Out of the 3 Castles Ever After, this was my least fave but I still enjoyed it. It just dragged out a little bit. But still a fun regency romance.

I had a great fun #legoaudiobooking today and finished the Lego Bookshop!

Book 4 for #joyousjanuary
Book 3 for #pantone2022
#roaringwolf “hope”

tpixie Wow! A Lego library! Cool! 2h
booksellerofyourdiscontent That Lego set is so cool! Does it have an interior or is it just a façade? 2h
squirrelbrain I ❤️the Lego bookshop… I keep dropping hints to hubby but…. 🤷‍♀️ 1h

This book was fantastic. On the day of her death Orquidea gathers her family to her so that she can give them their Inheritance and then she literally transforms into a tree. Seven years later after a few of the family members die questionably Marimar, Rey and Rhiannon start searching for answers to Orquidea's history.

IamIamIam I was on the fence about this after Wayward Witch didn't live up to my extremely high expectations... lol, I'll put it back on the radar! Thanks! 2d

A cute #MiddleGrade book about a boy named Roan who wants to go to Pilot School but instead ends up at the Jedi Academy. He doesn't know how to use the Force and its a bit Harry Potter but set in a Galaxy Far Far Away.

Finished my first #ChunksterChallenge2022 read! 902 pages! I listened to it on audiobook, which I highly recommend for this series. This is book 9 and it is definitely not a standalone. Though a flaw of this book is summarizing too much of past books. Trimming some of that would have improved the book. I still enjoyed all the amazing characters. 4⭐️

CoverToCoverGirl Way to go! Congrats on conquering that chunkster! 🎉👏👏 4d
Amiable Super job! How many hours is that on audio? 4d
Nessavamusic @amiable 49.5, but I listened at 1.5 speed so it was 30something 4d

This was a super sweet romance novella that had some really funny moments. I loved it and now I want to read the other books in the Starlight Hill series. This is also my 2018 read for #19822022 @Librarybelle and my read for “Hope” for #RoaringWolf @Roary47 @Littlewolf1 And my pick for a contemporary romance @Nessavamusic for #NSR22

Librarybelle This sounds like fun! 4d

Woohoo!! I finished this one!! I think the “official“ #chunksterchallenge is anything over 800 pages, but for my personal 2022 challenge, I'm counting anything over 500 pages - these are books I've been putting off the last couple of years because of trying to hit my GR goal. This year, I've set my goal to 50 and even though I spent an entire week reading this one, I'm still 7 books ahead of schedule 😂 Anyway, this book! I loved it! Although it ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) was one of those books that did sometimes make me feel a little dumb. There is a lot going on here, and a lot of math, music, history, and chess - and I'm not particularly an expert on any of those! But the dual storylines really worked here, and I found myself very invested in both timelines. The ending felt almost too tidy, as a lot of complications got tied up quickly, but I'm a big fan of HEA, so I'm always willing to give a little ⬇ 6d
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) leeway there!! All in all a really enjoyable read and one I can see myself picking up again. I'm planning to read the sequel this week!!

TheAromaofBooks #WickedWords - @AsYouWish - I can't remember, does the word need to actually be in the title, or does the book just need to “match“ in some way? I.e., this cover is blue, so does it count for blue? 6d

Lizpixie Nice work!🙌 6d
AsYouWish @TheAromaofBooks It just needs to relate in some way, blue color on cover counts!!!!💙💙💙💙 6d
TheAromaofBooks @AsYouWish - Sweet!! I couldn't remember what the exact rules were! 😂 6d
AsYouWish @TheAromaofBooks The rules are flexible - it is just a fun way to get those books off our TBRs or a way to help pick books to read when we are stuck. 😁 6d
Librarybelle Oh! A 1980s one! Excellent! 6d

I really loved this book. Bayard is a underrated author in my opinion. Henry gets caught up in a mystery involving the Elizabethton genius Thomas Harriet, after his best friend dies. His friend Alonzo is a collector of rare books & recently stole a letter from one of his competitors. Of course the man wants his letter back & as executor of the estate Henry is tasked with finding it.

Fascinating. The basic premise: there is an over-reliance on economics/quantitative analysis to make decisions when these things should be a tool not the main determining factor because people do not think logically. Sutherland recommends psychological logic (aka alchemy). He mostly focuses on marketing (he is in advertising) but his premise has application in other areas.

Book 2 for #joyousjanuary

wanderinglynn I listened to the audiobook, which was fine, but I would‘ve preferred a physical book to take notes & flag pages. (edited) 1w

I loved this book. It's alternative history told like a fairy tale. Three sisters who are witches use the suffraget movement to bring witchcraft back into the world 🪶

I have had this memoir (?) by Amelia Earhart on my TBR for quite some time, and after being on reserve at the library for about six months, it finally appeared!! After reading (and thoroughly enjoying) The Spirit of Saint Louis by Charles Lindbergh, I was expecting a heftier tome (his account runs about 570pgs), but at less than 200pgs, some of which are photos, Earhart's story of being the first female to fly (as a passenger) across the ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) was much more lighthearted and less technical. Towards the end of the book, she mentions that it has only been 7 weeks since the flight itself, so this was written and published with a couple months of their historic flight. Earhart is modest and depreciating, even in the chapters where she is talking about her personal pilot experience. She's very open about the fact that she, personally, did nothing to facilitate the journey of The ⬇ 2w
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) Friendship other than go along for the ride, but it was still so interesting to read about. Because she was writing with the presumption that her readers already knew a lot of the background for the flight, there were times that I felt a little lost, but it was still an enjoyable read. I also loved hearing her thoughts on what direction the aviation industry should/would take, and different ways she believed people (and women) should be ⬇ 2w
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) involved. Almost a century after this flight, it's amazing to see how much of what she suggested did come to pass.

This isn't exactly a book I finished and felt like everyone should rush out and read, but it was an easy read with a likable and intelligent narrator, and a worthwhile piece of history to explore, if nothing else than for a glimpse of the aviation industry in its infancy.
