A high stakes adventure with amazing world-building and an exploration of mythology and lore, this was a fantastic amalgamation of magic and pirates and queer love stories. I can't even begin to describe the layers of nuance this book has, but I was invested in the characters' journeys and loved every minute of it.

I really loved this retelling of One Thousand & One Nights. Loulie along with her bodyguard/jinn Qadir are hired by the Sultan to find a magic lamp 🧞

5⭐️ honestly I don‘t even know where to begin except to say I absolutely love this book. I chose it because it went with my #roaringwolf in a world of my own prompt. However, the world building isn‘t exactly what I expected but the story was just so good. Id give it about a 🌶🌶🌶rating on the spice scale, but it was also super romantic and had me laughing so much. 10/10 would recommend! This is also my #doublebookspin for #bookspinbingo.

When I don't feel well, I want fluff, so I picked up the next book in the Chesapeake Shores series. In the first three books, about three different siblings (of six) the background story is the parents, who have been divorced for a long time, slowly getting back together, and this book focused on them. I did enjoy it, but also didn't feel like the whole situation with Megan's gallery was very well resolved. That's really been my overall issue ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) with this series - a character will have a valid issue and then in the end it's just like “oh love solves everything, yay!“ instead of actually addressing them?? And it really aggravates me. Still. A soft pick.

Clwojick I hate when an author does that! They make a point of introducing a legitimate concern/situation, and then just fluffs over it so it can end with a happy ending. I‘m like where is the resolution? Why are they still not communicating? Lol 3mo
Librarybelle Yeah, that‘s a disappointment! But, yay for fluff reading! 3mo
TheAromaofBooks @Clwojick - Right?? What's the point of creating this concern if you aren't going to have the characters address it?? This author seems to make a habit of doing this, so I'm not sure if I want to finish the series lol 3mo

2.8⭐️ trying to engage in my own challenge with #roaringwolf since it‘s my birthday month challenge, just for fun. I picked up this book that has both a werewolf and a vampire for the once bitten twice shy prompt. It was cute but it wasn‘t great. I‘m still debating if my interest in what happens next is worth picking up the next book. It also happens to be my #Bookspin for #bookspinbingo.

Ruthiella Hurray for hitting two prompts with one book! 👍 3mo

So for those of you who know me, know that I claim the entire month of July for my birthday. So basically I have a birth month and not a birthday. With that being said I present this month challenge. While I couldn‘t put everything that I enjoyed on this list, the challenge does reflect a lot of myself. Hope you all enjoy. #roaringwolf #roaringwolfchallenge

5✨Finished this before yoga today. It is the last Dog Man Book 😭. The main story is Petey‘s backstory. The title comes from Weathering Heights. There is inspiration from songs, quotes, a scripture (John 8:7), Mister Rogers Neighborhood, and another book by this author. I will miss reading these books. #roaringwolf @Littlewolf1 “Father”

This was the best book that I've read in awhile. I'm in my forties & really needed a break from teenage & twenty something heroines. Three women: Nessa, Harriet & Jo who are all going through the change & developing magical powers that they use to solve the murder of a bunch of dead girls.

5feet.of.fury YES. I am 37 and I can take a young protagonist in a fantasy book if it‘s good but sometimes it grates on me, and I hate reading thrillers or procedurals and the chief of police, head medical examiner or lead detective is 25. I enjoyed this break away from the traditional “discovering your power age group” 3mo
