Book 28 of 2025. This was a story of love and betrayal, not necessarily happy, but so good nonetheless. If you like historical fiction, especially the WWII time period, you will love this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another historical fiction with such a heartfelt plot. I really enjoyed reading the story even when the tears fell. The timeframe begins as the Germans start WWII. The winemakers of France are trying to save their country. The love and memories broke my heart. One of the best stories I‘ve read this year. 4.5/5⭐️

So cute and very, very romantic. Inspired by the movie ‘You‘ve Got Mail‘ and it hit all the right notes. Give me a grand romantic gesture any day and I‘m good. 😍

Our book club selection and finally they chose a book that I hadn‘t read or heard about!😂. Set in present day and during WW2, Liv finds out about her grandmothers past secrets. The fight of the French to keep the Germans away from their champagne fields. Very good read. The French resistance and the history of champagne.

The art of drinking champagne

The books is what the title says: two women bonding over champagne and living a exhilarating life. And, as always with books by Amelie Nothomb, we as readers are left asking ourselves what is true, what is pure exaggeration and what is fiction. With Nothomb one never knows. In it's depth it's a story about a female friendship, including two very special women doing whatever society doesn't want them to do.

Cuilin Your description reminds me of the 90‘s tv show “Absolutely Fabulous” 1y
Jari-chan @Cuilin I wish I knew the show 😅 1y
Cuilin @Jari-chan it‘s a BBC show. Incredibly funny with Joanna Lumley, and Jennifer Saunders. 1y
Jari-chan @Cuilin Oh, sounds intriguing! 🤩 1y

Even though there were some bad news this week, there was still a lot of joy as well.

1) Nemo, of course. So much love 💖
2) Received two lovely food packages from two lovely people
3) Got two awesome books from @VaniBarelyReads ❤ (she will show up here always, because she's my #1 joy)
4) Free kiwi when I needed something healthy
5) Awesome vegan empanada at the local food festival 🎉

MemoirsForMe Your empanada looks so good. My favorite are the unhealthy cherry empanadas with powdered sugar. 😋 1y
Jari-chan @UwannaPublishme Oh wow, those must taste amazing 🤩 1y

Can't resist Amelie Nothomb, one of my all-time favourite writers. And when I saw this hardback edition of Felix and Gotrek I was all 😍😍🤩
