Lessons with Dumbledore. Not quite what Harry (or we for that matter) had in mind. But the Headmaster is nothing if not practical and always thinking five steps ahead. His hand is worrying me. #madness in Voldemort's family - not a surprise but nor can it be a justification for his evil ways.

In the space of a day, Harry's dreams of going to Hogsmeade is realised with George and Fred's present, then ruined and smashed into a million tiny pieces by over-hearing their teachers' conversation with Fudge and Rosmerta. Although I always found it one of the most clumsy bits of exposition ever...

#hpchapteraday #chapterten #friendship UGH, troll bogies!! This chapter marks the beginning of a beautiful friendship between Harry, Ron, and Hermione (FINALLY!). All it took was a few troll booger snots.
Leaving aside the lifelong and unbreakable friendship of the three heroes, consider Harry's other school chums--how much friendship do they offer, for how long? Throughout the books, they come in peaks and troughs, some lasting, some slight. But to argue that the bonds of friendship is not a main theme, is to deny their value.
