My latest meal from DELICIOUS TONIGHT was Arabic chicken & potatoes. The potatoes didn‘t take on as much flavour as I‘d hoped, but they still had a great texture and some nicely crisped bits. The chicken was moist and tasty, with a nice tang from the sumac.
Also of note: I only needed a slight filter to make mine the same colour as the example photo.
It‘s been a long & crazy workweek (workweeks) & thus a while since I‘ve posted a #HaikuADay with #HaukuHive. Took a lunch break today to sit outside read & relax—the inspiration for my haiku.

Not from the tagged cookbook but from a local Peruvian Nikkei (somewhat) upmarket fast food place: Donburi Crispy Chicken Nikkei with rice, chicken karaage, about 10 ( 🙄) individual choclo kernels (white corn), deep-fried Padrón peppers, fried eggplant & 3 sauces (ají mayo, ají panca, ají miso). Japanese cheesecake for dessert. Very nice. Could have been cheaper!

Got some solid blueberry picking in today!
I got a great deal on pears yesterday, so today‘s all about using them up before they rot. I consulted my cookbook collection and found some promising pear recipes in Nigella‘s body of work, starting with these pear & ginger muffins. They could‘ve used a bit more ginger, but they‘re mighty tasty overall.
I love to bake and used to have a little baking business on the side, but for some reason I have always been intimidated by the thought of making macarons. So just using this as a little extra motivation to get off my butt and just do it. 🧑🍳
