Since Mr. Scrooge and Mr. Grinch both start out as mean curmudgeons who change at Christmas, I think Scrooge and A Christmas Carol work well for today's musical prompt. ??Happy Christmas Eve-Eve and as Tiny Tim would say, "God bless us every one! "?❤️

AmandaL @Louise @KVanRead Every Christmas Eve I make 7 different fish dishes and for dessert we have Italian pastries. I change what dishes I make, but fried calamari, green salad w/ tuna, escarole bread made w/ anchovies, spaghetti w/ clams, fried cod, shrimp cocktail and crab cakes are popular with my family. My mother in law makes baccala salad and fried eel, but I'm not brave enough to make either. Plus I'm a vegetarian and only eat the pastries. 😁 6y

Used #CratchitCatchUp day to finish my other #SerialReader book. This was also a reread —first time since high school. After a thrilling beginning I found the first third kind of slow but once it hits its stride it more than makes up for that and I soon remembered how much I love this book and especially #SidneyCarton. #DickensianDecember #ChristmasCarolBuddyRead #ChristmasCarolReread @jenniferw88

#CratchitCatchUp I was one issue behind and definitely glad for a day to get caught up! I'm surprised at how naturally my feelings progressed with this story, from "Rot in hell, capitalist Scrooge!" at the start to, "There there, Scrooge, it's going to be fine" now. Of course you get the sense that this story is meant to be didactic, but done with humour & good spirits & empathy for human foibles & frailty ? #ChristmasCarolBuddyRead @KVanRead

KVanRead One of the best things about it. Dickens doesn‘t just effect change in Scrooge, he effects in us too. 6y

Sills @KVanRead agreed-it's why I love Dickens and the many themes he infuses in his novels. Great YouTube on Dickens by professor Engle that explains Dickens and his writing purpose and style🙂 6y
