This isn‘t #Micawber but Jonathan Pryce as John Dickens in the new movie The Man Who Invented Christmas. I was struck by how he was given some of Micawber‘s actual lines from the book — makes sense since the character was at least partly based on him. #DickensianDecember @jenniferw88

JazzFeathers How's the film? I so want to see it! 7y
KVanRead @JazzFeathers I loved it!! 7y

#London is wonderfully embodied in the formidable Miss Pross. #DickensianDecember #micdrop 🎤😂 @jenniferw88

Riveted_Reader_Melissa This is one of his that I really need to re-read. I‘m fairly sure we read it in school, but I remember almost nothing of the plot. 7y
KVanRead @Riveted_Reader_Melissa All I remembered was the ending and the knitting lol. I never think I‘m a fan of rereads because too many books. But some need to be reread and remembered. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @KVanRead Very True, and I‘m making an effort especially with ones I either don‘t remember or hated from High School. Different eyes and different experiences seem to change my impressions of at least some of them. 7y

Used #CratchitCatchUp day to finish my other #SerialReader book. This was also a reread —first time since high school. After a thrilling beginning I found the first third kind of slow but once it hits its stride it more than makes up for that and I soon remembered how much I love this book and especially #SidneyCarton. #DickensianDecember #ChristmasCarolBuddyRead #ChristmasCarolReread @jenniferw88

LeahBergen I should definitely put this on my “to read” list for this year. 👍🏻 7y
KVanRead @LeahBergen You won‘t be disappointed. 7y

A Christmas Carol had been re-done and retold so many times - and while I love the story, I admit that I didn‘t expect this to be half as fun or as genuinely fresh as it is!! A great holiday listen that goes by so fast you will be ready to listen again while #Audiocoloring or not!! Still set in #London this shows the familiar story from the titular character‘s POV! #DickensianDecember @jenniferw88

SandyW One of my all timefavorite books. 7y
Sydsavvy I remember encountering this for the first time. I was in high school. It blew me away. 7y
Lcsmcat @SandyW Mine too. It‘s about time for a re-read. 7y
Lcsmcat @Sydsavvy I was in 9th grade, and thought I was in heaven to “have to” read Dickens! 7y
KVanRead Agree!! 7y
