Lovely and meandering in the best possible way. Seriously, I‘m not sure how Queen Elizabeth‘s handbags haven‘t gotten some kind of honour for their decades of silent and faithful service. I got oddly emotional at points, especially later in the book (maybe because I personally remember the emotion of those moments). I‘m glad it ended shortly after William and Kate‘s wedding, because I bawled at the end of The Crown and could not handle that again.

I'm trying to do better with my non-fiction reading. This #chunkster was so informative and one I highly recommend. Whilst it is heavy on details that some may find excessive...it spoke to my history loving heart. #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks

Brand new into my library and I get to be the first person to read this copy! As a fan of the British Royals I was excited to learn SBS had written a new book about Queen Elizabeth's parents and how they shaped how she would rule. Can't wait to start!

My mother and I did a buddy read with this one. I enjoyed learning about events that lead up to her birth and the years leading up to her marriage to Philip since there wasn‘t a lot of that period in The Crown. I wish there was a family tree at the beginning or the end because the hardest part was keeping everyone straight because so many family members have the same names. I‘m just glad that I had exposure to all the names from the show!

I‘d been eyeing this new biography of the Queen (it‘s so pretty!) and The Corgi and the Queen is the absolute sweetest. There‘s even a queen (of books) on this fabulous bookmark. I think we both had the same theme for our gift exchange this year. 😆
