#September 10 Prompt: #entersandman #Metallica

I think this book fits perfectly! First three volumes. 📚 I‘m gonna read it in October. I LOVE that song too! It took me back to my teenage years. 😂🤣😂

MidnightBookGirl I probably need to read this too! 3y

#LittensDressedInBlood #Day10 #EnterSandman For this prompt I‘m going for my current book, though it‘s the WOT as a whole really. A big part of it is Tel‘aran‘rhiod, the World Of Dreams. It‘s a dream version of the world running parallel to theirs & dreamers are people who can step in and out of this world at will. Egwene joins the Aiel Wise Ones in the Waste to learn from them how to walk Tel‘aran‘rhiod safely. Excuse my poor battered book!

MidnightBookGirl That is the sign of a well loved book! 3y

Not book related. But what is with the weather in Chicago? It's freezing! I need the heat on in the car! And Metallica. . . Because it's always a Metallica kind of morning!!🤘🤘

Do you listen to music while you read? I listen to random worship albums for some reason or Christian music if I need music with words? For some reason it's the only music with words I can read to - otherwise it's movie scores for me!

jeff I do this all the time, and find that the songs bring back vivid images of the books when I hear them again. 9y
maximoffs @jeff Music with words? Or scores or instrumentals? But that's really cool! I haven't had that experience yet 9y
jeff Both. For Master and Margarita (which seems to be popping up on Litsy today), it was Broken Bells. For Clockwork Orange, it was Adele (random, right?). 9y

maximoffs @jeff Clockwork Orange and Adele might be the random music/book pairing I've ever heard of. Also I haven't heard of Master and Margarita so now I need to check it out 9y
jeff This book is awesome 9y
Zypdoda Right now I'm really enjoying listening to Lauren Daigle but I can't do it while I'm reading. I can't have music with words on while I'm reading. :( 9y
maximoffs @jeff consider it stacked. @Zypdoda Lauren Daigle is wonderful! I can't stop listening to like...worship music when I read but I go through phases where I am like WHY DOES MUSIC HAVE WORDS 9y
Zakia Now, I don't usually listen to music when I read, but Metallica's black album goes VERY well with Stephen King's The Gunslinger. If I may say so. Damn well. #theunforgiven #sadbuttrue #entersandman 9y
maximoffs @Zakia oooooh interesting!!! 9y
Zakia @stormborn There was once an app called 8track (now its only paid subscription) where people put together playlists that accompany certain books/ authors. There was a lot of playlists for Haruki Murakami novels simply because music played a huge part in his books. It was awesome. 9y
maximoffs @Zakia I was obsessed with 8tracks. I didn't realise it went paid only. That's where a ton of my reading playlists were from 😭 9y
Zakia @stormborn OMIGOD just checked and it still works! Check it out: http://8tracks.com/cassisblanc/sputnik-sweetheart you can search any novelist. It's pretty groovy! ❤️🤘🏼🤘🏼 9y
Ukulelebob To kill a mockingbird and sounds of silence 9y
Zakia You have to login from google account or facebook. But depending on the country you are in it may not work :/ 9y
maximoffs @Zakia I loveeee 8 tracks. I'll have to find my old reading playlists and share them with you. Im in the states I just spell like a Brit 9y
maximoffs @Ukulelebob solid choice! 9y
Gezemice Can't read and listen to music at the same time, although I think I could probably listen to classical music while reading - something that does not interfere. 9y
Zakia @stormborn Please do. It'll be great to get recommendations 😊 9y
maximoffs @Gezemice I found when I listened to movie scores it made the book feel more real! 9y
BookFreakOut Two Steps From Hell has epic movie-score style music. Don't let the name dissuade you (especially since you posted a Christian song), it's just amazing orchestrated stuff with vocals in a few. 9y
maximoffs @BookFreakOut HAHAHAH names rarely freak me out. I'm a Christian but probably one of the most low key person when it comes to that stuff. I'll check them out! 9y
annahenke I'm all about the movie scores! 9y
maximoffs @ahenke they're great!! Especially when you're listening and are like "wait isn't this hunger games?" 9y
winemom I've been stuck on French 60s pop? 😂 It's the most soothing background music to me, for some reason. 9y
maximoffs @winemom and I thought my selection was random. That is random. I love it! 9y
kammartinez Most of the time I listen to whatever background noise is going on around me (personal fave background noises: cafe or museum) but some books demand a soundtrack. The last book I read that follows the latter rule was Chee's Queen of the Night; listened to the Wagner's Nibelungenlied for that book :) 9y
maximoffs @kammartinez love the idea that some books demand a soundtrack 9y
kammartinez Sometimes, if I feel like bailing on a book and I don't know why, I look for a soundtrack for it first, and see if that helps. It doesn't always work, but when it does, it helps immensely to keep me on-track :). 9y
TheMistbornReader I'm glad I'm not alone! I do read books with movie scores playing in the background. That way, it gives me an almost movie-like experience. :) you can try out Two Steps from Hell and Audiomachine. :) their music is astounding and epic! 9y
kammartinez @TheMistbornReader I'm familiar with Two Steps from Hell and Audiomachine, and I listen to their stuff for a lot of the epic fantasy novels I pick up :D. Amazingly on-point musical material, if you can match the right song to the right scene XD. 9y
maximoffs @kammartinez @TheMistbornReader I love all of this you guys!!!! 9y
