Just a word of caution, my mom and I have noticed what we are calling “Ghost Shoppers.“

Every time we go shopping, we are noticing ghost shopping carts and hand baskets with food in them just left abandoned in the middle of aisles. Too many for it to seem normal.

Be cautious when out shopping. Try to not shop alone, stay away from back exits/storage room doors, and never believe someone claiming to be a so-called agent...

The one Black Eyed Peas song that I went crazy over was “Where Is the Love“ from 2003. Played on repeat for months.

Been meaning to read Taboo's graphic novels. These are on my “must buy and read TBR.“

After the outcome of the National Guard decisions, it's difficult to become truly excited until Californians know for sure if change is really truly going to happen...

However, I've realized that this is unfair to our Champions. They need us to cheer for every success they accomplish...no matter the impact or duration of that win.

It would have better captured my inspiration for this Haiku, but the one used here seems just as impactful.

With everything going on in America, I hadn't planned on a “Highlights From California“ until next week.

But something has happened.

Haven't been sleeping well, & we have a max limit of 2 cups of coffee per day...so, this is basically written at a level of anxiety & rage that hasn't been emotionally processed/remedied.

Please know: everything has turned out fine for now, but this was an alarming moment for Los Angeles, California & America.

1- A lawsuit has been filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California. Filed on Wednesday in federal court in Los Angeles, it accuses the Trump administration of unleashing “indiscriminate immigration operations” “ 🆒✊🏼🐻🙏🏼💝.

2- Peaceful rallies in Down Town LA, CA to demand an “end to the occupation” of Los Angeles by federal agents ✊🏼🐻🙏🏼💝.

Just realized that Walmart fired Adrian Andrew Martinez while he was still being held. An American employee who was kidnapped by armed, unidentifiable agents from a Walmart parking lot. (I wrote this in first Highlights From California).

We have only been to Walmart once (for necessities) since the “no corporate shopping“ at the beginning of 2025.

Now I am truly considering how my mom & I could ever again feel safe shopping here.
