If you‘re from Columbus, you‘ll remember the Kahiki Supper Club. It was a restaurant like no other. We always went for birthdays and would cook our own meatballs over mini fires and order the smoking drinks. It was torn down over 15 years ago to build a Walgreens and I‘m still not over it. ðŸ˜

AlaMich It sounds like it was a lot of fun, like a tiki theme. 6y
ravenlee Kahiki was my homecoming dinner sophomore year of high school. Also, when I was about 10 and moving to Columbus, random girl in my dance class told me about this place she couldn‘t remember by name but it has fish on the walls and everybody goes there - years later we figured out it was Kahiki. 6y
cherinium It was such a landmark, it was terrible to see it razed. 6y

rretzler I loved Kahiki and still miss it too! There is a new tiki restaurant in Powell that I‘ve been meaning to try, but I‘m sure it will not be able to compare with Kahiki! 6y
Cinfhen Awwww #HomeTownMemories 6y
Mdargusch I love that there are kahiki fans on Litsy!!! @ravenlee @cherinium @rretzler 6y
rretzler @Mdargusch @ravenlee @cherinium @Reviewsbylola It makes me wonder how many Littens are in the Columbus area. I live in Dublin, but have been in Columbus since 1981 - originally from Wintersville, OH, a small town in eastern OH near the Ohio River. 6y
ravenlee @rretzler I‘m not in Columbus anymore. I left Ohio 15 years ago and have been back just a handful of times since, but we lived in Gahanna from ‘91-mid ‘00s and my dad still has family scattered around town. I think there‘s been an Ohio Litten meet-up - @Chelleo did you set that up? 6y
Chelleo @ravenlee @rretzler Yes, I did and we have another #OhioLitsyMeetup scheduled for this coming Saturday at the #OhioanaBookFestival We‘re meeting in the Cafe of the Columbus Metropolitan Library at 9:30am. 6y
ravenlee Thanks, @Chelleo - that sounds like fun. Hope you all have a great time! 6y
cherinium @rretzler I am also not in Columbus anymore. I grew up in Franklin (near Dayton), went to college in Findlay (spending my summers in Columbus), then moved to Columbus. I stayed in Columbus until my husband took a job in St. Louis in 2012. I miss it tremendously. 6y
