pickIt was really interesting to see how the uprising started. Director Tann is now more hated. Sloane, however, went through a weird character development where it doesn't make sense to her character in the game. She went through all the BS to getvthe station back up and running, and dealt with Tann undermining her only for her to end up ruling Kadaara port the way that she is in the game is hypocritical. I completely agreed with the uprising.
panI was hoping this book would make me appreciate Cora. It didn't. I appreciate the AI Sam more. Alec Ryder a bit more. But not Cora and that's why I picked this up. The writing was fine it was that I didn't care for for the character.. still.

so-soSo I‘ve never played the Mass Effect video game series, but decided to give the book a chance since it was co-written by N. K. Jemisin and I could count it towards my author a month count. The book started off slow for me and I almost walked away, but just over halfway through it began to pick up for me and held my attention. While this was an interesting world, I doubt I‘ll continue in it. #AuthorAMonth
It‘s N7 Day over in the video game world today so thought I‘d also celebrate it here too! Mass Effect is one of my all time favorite video games and I‘m so excited that they announced a remaster of the trilogy this morning!
Daylight savings time always messes with me, and this year is no different. But I'm trying to adjust this morning with a fun book. Cat Valente writes with such wit and brings her characters to life. I'm laughing out loud and disturbing Seren's slumber. (Sorry for the blurry picture, but she moves too fast even mid-yawn!)
so-soThis book was fine, but not nearly as compelling is the previous title in the series. It just seemed to drag at multiple points and it would happen just as I was getting excited about the story.

My #bookstack is made up of the Mass Effect books that I own! Mass Effect is probably my favorite video game series of all time and hearing the theme play over the main menu of the first game feels like home. The books are an extension of that world and are filled with lore and backstory. #30JuneBooks @howjessreads
Seems I‘m in book bounce mode. I tried to read some Jackie Collins, but I wasn‘t in quite the right mood for Rich People Behaving Badly so I switched to some SF. Now I‘m bailing on this one about a third of the way through. It‘s probably not bad, but it just ain‘t grabbing me. Maybe it‘s one of those tie-ins where you really do need to know the source material so you can spot all the cool bits. (I bought it because of Jemisin‘s involvement.)
