pickOne last book of the year. Always a sucker for a different POV or take on a story. Love how things were developed and sometimes, especially from Emily‘s journal, the phrasing was amazing. Wasn‘t always committed to the book but enough to keep me going.

Donna, I don‘t have this edition of The Wizard of Oz, and I ❤️ it! Movie stills and an introduction by the Scarecrow himself, Ray Bolger. (I forgot to include the great Wonder Woman bookmark in the photo.)
The masks remind me of so many favorite books—Jane Eyre, Nicholas & Alexandra (the nautical cap), Jinjer in the Oz books, and The Phantom of the Opera‘s masquerade.

pickI am familiar with the Wicked musical and movies as well as the first Wizard of Oz book. I knew going into the book that it was going to be different from all of those.
I have to say I was surprised by how much I ended up liking this one!
