so-soI just don't know about these books.😂 Rikitink in Oz was annoying & nothing Oz-related showed up until chapter 20. I liked The Lost Princess of Oz, which had a relatively tight plot. Then we ended with The Tin Woodman of Oz, which was bizarre. After all this time, Nick Chopper is going to go back & offer to marry the munchkin girl he used to love & make her empress. So egotistical for kind Nick! And we meet Oz's version of Frankenstein's monster.
so-soThe Tin Man remembers the girl he promised to marry & goes on a quest to find her. W/ the Scarecrow, a boy named Woot, & an enchanted Polychrome, they‘ll face many weird & wonderful things in Oz.
I love the buddy road trip & the friendship, but I forgot that this is the book that introduces the fact that nobody ever changes or dies in Oz. Babies stay babies, the old stay old, & your chopped up body parts remain alive independent of you.🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑
so-soIt wasn't a bad read, but considering my age, it was very simple and the lessons taught are things I've already picked up in life naturally. An ok read (Mostly decided to read it bc I know a lot of ppl like it lol)

This was a fun read! I loved the existing connections to The Wizard of Oz but also loved the new additions A. J. brought to the story. Would definitely recommend to any Wizard of Oz fan! 🪄🫧💚
pickSomebody points out to the Tin Man that he never reconnected with the girl whose love caused him to be chopped up and turned to tin. Time for an adventure! The usual random bizarre assortment of creatures and places await. I appreciated Baum explaining a bit of the history of Oz becoming a fairyland where no one dies, though as a mom I‘m horrified at the prospect of babies staying babies forever. Then again, if they can‘t die, maybe not so bad?
I‘m either 2 days late OR 5 days early for #FridayHappyReadingHour 🤣 But either way, here I am with my wine, my cheese & crackers and my Toto ebook (also pictured is my hubby‘s iced tea lol). The laundry from vacation is all done and put away, groceries for the week have been purchased and I even got a car wash and vacuumed out the sand from our beach day 🙌 How many hours until Friday….?
