And the Birds Rained Down | Jocelyne Saucier
post image

The emoji in the center of the flower says it all. The choice between And the Birds Rained Down and My Broken Language was painful!

Ultimately, I went with the title I did because it does *a lot* in few words. My Broken Language could be a bit rambly (but I‘d happily drown in her tidal wave of language forever).

October wasn‘t the strongest month of reading. My favorite was tagged, such a weird twisty thriller. Best to go into this one knowing nothing.

It seems a bit wrong to choose a reread as my favorite book of the month, but I didn‘t read any new books that rose to the level of consideration. And there‘s a reason I reread it!

Yes, there are two blank spaces where the next tier up should go. It‘s hard to make decisions 😅

This House is haunted was my favorite October book. However, it wasn‘t better than Fall of Ruin and Wrath. And Fall of Ruin and Wrath wasn‘t better than A Tempest of Tea.

Excited to see what it comes up against.

October favorite! TJ is beating everyone else though. And the LMP book is added as a bonus ♥️ #readingbracket2024 @CSeydel

Sorcery and Small Magics by Maiga Doocy was my only five star read of the month, so an easy pick for October. Unfortunately, I think Anxious People beats it out to the semi-final spot.

rachelsbrittain I feel like I can't even be mad about this since I'm the one that recommended Anxious People to you in the first place 😅 4d
sebrittainclark @rachelsbrittain There's a very good chance that the final showdown will be books you recommend to me. 3d

#readingbracket2024 I read so many five star books this month but my favorite of October was definitely the new Sabaa Tahir book. It‘s a top read of the year for sure. Only a few spots left!

It's almost the end of the month, so it's time for another installment of my #2024bookbracket. I accomplished a lot more reading in October compared to September. Both Sep/Oct were tough to compare as well as the bonuses as they are completely different books but I managed to make my picks with careful consideration.

Only two more months!

September #ReadingBracket2024 fiction update
It was very close to being three months in a row of Alexandra Rowland books. However, although I adored Yield Under Great Persuasion, Celestial Monsters beat it out. The conclusion to the Sunbearer Duology was very exciting and satisfying
