Lying Game | Ruth Ware

Pickpick

I‘m not typically one for mystery novels. I usually have them figured out 1/3 of the way through. However, Ware kept me on my toes with this one. Just when I thought I had the mystery solved, another element was added into this game of lies and secrets spanning over 20 years. #reesewitherspoonbookclub

Not only is there a great story between the covers of this book but you learn as well. I think this is the one time an audible book won‘t be as good as there are pages of teaching. Took me a second to catch on that dialogue wasn‘t tagged with quotes but otherwise solid read! #bookclubread #reesewitherspoonbookclub #readingchallenge2022

it‘s crappening 💩 my niece let me borrow her copy!! i didn‘t think i‘d be into the dialogue style in the book but it makes sense for the purpose of a documentary. i feel like i‘m reading a script! 🤓 it‘ll be cool to see how the tv adaptation does! also, dare i say, i‘ve been in love with the cover since the moment i saw it. #daisyjonesandthesix #reesewitherspoonbookclub

I read this as part of #reesewitherspoonbookclub and for #scarathlon2020. A good mystery with a bit of suspense and gore thrown in. Lots (too many and unnecessary, in my opinion) of breastfeeding references. Ending was so-so. What I did like was where it takes place and the gorgeous descriptions. @StayCurious

I am on a mission to read all of @reesesbookclub picks this year. This one was fantastic! Brilliant, smart, immersive. Fantastic character development, like being inside the mind of a damaged child that's grown into a damaged adult, funny, witty, emotional- a fantastic ride from start to finish. #eleanoroliphantiscompletelyfine

This is probably not going to be a popular review for this much-praised book, but it just didn‘t grab me. Several short stories told from the point of view of Haitians from different walks of life. I leave this one feeling dull and a bit sad. #reesewitherspoonbookclub

Ruthiella I read her debut Breath, Eyes, Memory and was underwhelmed... My expectations were high too. Oh well! 😬 4y

Untamed | Glennon Doyle

Pickpick

This is a quick read with short chapters. An honest look at changing from “traditional” family style to a two-mom household. More her personal “this is ok” “be you” type of message throughout. I read this for Reese‘s book club. While it is not my normal type of read, there are some great quotes throughout, which I wrote down in my journal. Glennon Doyle is solid. #reesewitherspoonbookclub #hellosunshinebookclub
