Liz_M I found the 1001 list in 2007 and have been obsessively reading from it ever since. I read the tagged book in 2010, after finding it in my favorite used bookstore. 5y

Surrealist artist and writer Leonora might as well have been #runningacrossthinicewithtigers in 1943 when she was taken to a mental health facility bc she was completely out of her mind... Unfortunately her recounting of this experience didn't quite interest me as much as I thought it would. Her short, sparse writing may be due to the multiple translations back and forth over time, but I lost interest quickly.

This is one of those books that I came across at a book sale and grabbed because it sounded interesting enough. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I came across this bk when doing an around world challenge after it was short listed for the IB. Whilst there is no ice in Indonesia, the opening of the book is the discovery of a body horribly killed by what is obviously a tiger, however the killer is a boy possessed by female white tiger. As a possible defence i think that he may have been on thin ice.
Still a good read. 🐯
