@Readergrrl The wrapping paper was rich! The delicate sunflower bookmark is one of a kind. I‘m thrilled with the sunflower book sleeve. I‘ve wanted to read Where the Lost Wander for some time. Discovering that Ruta Sepetys was born & raised in Michigan was a sweet surprise. I am desperately looking forward to reading the tagged book, acknowledging it will cost me emotionally 😔#FallingForFallSwap
An enjoyable short read. I was expecting a little more in regards to the structure of the Soviet Union‘s meteorological network and the work they did. It was less about that and more focused on the life in prison and brutality the meteorologist, Alexey Feodosievich, had to endure as a review on the horrors of the Great Terror. Paragraphs often hop in time which confused at times, but an overall good read for those interested.
Book number 4. Wow. I‘ve had this sitting on my shelf for nearly a year. I picked it up and read it in one sitting. Sepetys is an incredible historical fiction author and you can feel her character‘s thoughts and emotions bleed of the page. A part of history not often talked about but so important. 8/10

Fun fact: My Dad's an ex-history teacher who taught this period, so I asked him for some recommendations for us. There were others he mentioned but he said Robert Harris within a couple of seconds of me asking, so these alternate histories should be good!
I noticed that Jenny had written a review of Homesick, a book I recently finished. I decided to look at some of her other reviews and ran across this one from a year ago. It seems important to share it for those who might want to read more about Russia and their history with Ukraine. It also seems important to spend time remembering Jenny. I miss her.
