TEArificbooks It definitely is. He is going to visit his wife and children at Christmas. They are at a company Christmas party. He brings a present. And his wife‘s name is Holly. 1y

wanderinglynn The Christmas question is amusing because it gets some riled up about it. But I think there‘s a better question: is Die Hard a romance movie? Think about it—John McClane (Bruce Willis) “threads the needle” to hopefully win back his estranged wife. 😉😆 1y

bthegood Over the years this movie has become a “classic Christmas“ movie (and I'm glad because I am a fan) - Sound Of Music in our house is considered a holiday movie (Thanksgiving/Christmas season) - yet nothing about it screams holiday 😂 (edited) 1y

dabbe @bthegood We watched Sound of Music at Christmas, too, because it was always on at that time of the year. And The Wizard of Oz would always come on around Easter. Why? I have no idea, but they were rites of passage in our house! 😃 1y

SaunteringVaguelyDownwards Even more fun is realizing that John McClane is the antagonist of this movie, not the protagonist - he's the obstacle getting in the way of Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) achieving his goals! 1y

dabbe @SaunteringVaguelyDownwards Absolutely! I guess you could go the other way, too, with McClane being given his quest unknowingly (like Dorothy arriving in Oz), and then his quest is to save his wife, and Gruber is in the way! I just adore hero's quest stories! 🤩😍🤗 1y

Reading this while at the Bosphorus-Golden Horn sunset cruise while vacationing in Istanbul with family right now. Arrived last Sunday and leaving for Bodrum in two days‘ time. 💕 My second visit in this beautiful city, first time was in 2015, but for work. Loving the city‘s vibe even more now. 💕
