As charming, subtly inclusive, and silly as ever. I was extremely delighted to see that I am no longer caught up on Dana's comic! #Unicorn #Comic

#HumbleHarvest Day 17: Not really #Corn but Uni #Corn. Things were going just fine and dandy for Goat until Unicorn moved in. Goat thought he was pretty special with his bicycle, nearly-perfect marshmallow squares, his signature dance moves. Then Unicorn with his shimmering flight, his storm of cupcakes, and professional prancing moves continually steal Goat‘s spotlight, albeit without really intending to. Thanks for the tag @Eggs
1 The Last Unicorn also my favorite movie 🦄
2 When I was a kid my parents used to take me and my brother trick or treating in my grandparents neighborhood. We used to have a great time walking around together 🎃
3 Right after I finished a 5 mile hike with my brother and niece in TN 🧡

Jari-chan I loved that movie too. Even though I was SO scared of the Red Bull 🙈 5mo
iread2much 1. My favorite book as a kid was Wolf at the Door by Barbara Corcoran. 2. A favorite childhood memory of my dad was when he would cut up cheese and apples into cute shapes for us as snacks while my mom was in school. 3. The last time I remember being ecstatic was when my husband got a new good job after being laid off during COVID shutdown. Thank you for tagging me! (edited) 5mo

Invasion of the Unicorns | David Biedrzycki

3.5 ⭐ This book was fun, but it has a shelf life. A unicorn comes to earth and hides in a toy machine. Its mission is to determine if the Unicorns should invade earth. This book is the “log” of this unicorn explorer as he joins a family. The story is nice and the illustrations are lovely. But it would be awkward to read at Storytime. It would be great for bedtime though.

Good morning, Littens!

I‘m revisiting a childhood favourite.

I can‘t blame you, Phoebe! I would want to be kidnapped by goblins, too.

Phoebe is definitely her own character. But sometimes, if you replace Phoebe with an anthropomorphic fox and Dakota with an anthropomorphic sheep, this could absolutely be an Ozy & Millie strip.

This volume was even more delightful than the first; I relate easily to Phoebe‘s parents! I laughed out loud several times and had to share a few strips with my husband. Surprisingly, my five-year-old doesn‘t seem to be interested.

I don‘t know whether Dana Simpson is making specific callbacks to Ozy & Millie (I seem to recall Millie eating Sugar Kabooms) or if it‘s just that her style, especially for this similar-aged-and-imaginative character, is the same, but either way I‘m here for it! Also see: Dakota saying “guh” 😂

Finally reading the Phoebe and her Unicorn comics. I just thought I‘d be enjoying some fun, silly comics—I didn‘t expect an introduction from the greatest of unicorn novelists himself! 😍
