Another good one! This time Uhtred goes through some hard times before getting revenge on his enemies at the end, and he still needs to reclaim his family's fortress, while he is oath-bound to King Alfred. I may slow down on this series while I read other books.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I honestly wasn‘t expecting to give “The Road of Bones” a fourth star, however 2/3rds of the way through the character development and plot took a turn that peaked my interest and has me looking forward to reading its sequel. There were a couple plot twists that I saw coming, however I admit that there were still a couple that caught me by surprise.

#MondayMood

My weekend remains with me: Sunday began watching Ken Burn‘s The American Revolution as family; Poe kept me up last night into the wee morning hours snugging me with his head -beyond worth the lack of sleep- Saturday I visited my local Indie store to pick my October pre-ordered books& then some…Tonight more Ken Burns. My mood is happy & engaged for the most part- sadness mixes in with thoughts of losing Poe…work today was wonderful.

AmyG Poe is giving some serious side-eye. 🤣 (edited) 3w
Librarybelle I find that I burst into tears sometimes when snuggling with Zeke. I completely understand. 3w
Aims42 @AmyG I came here to say the same thing 😹 @kspenmoll your weekend sounds nice, especially the indie bookstore visit!! 🥰 2w

Starting third book in series. Have not seen the TV series at all but books seem good.

Second book is still very good. Uhtred is supporting Alfred in spite of what he thinks of him. His dark witchy woman becomes a Christian. His wife leaves him. Big battle at the end. Very readable for me.

Ruthiella I‘ve only read the first book but it was very good. This is the kind of historical fiction I like. 3w
KCofKaysville @Ruthiela. Yes. Could be compared to O‘Brian‘s sea novels with Capt. Aubrey for interesting and fun reading. 3w

I can use this book in my classroom to teach children about viking culture, friendship, courage and growth. There are a lot of important themes presented in this story that can teach children a bunch of timeless messages.

Pickpick

This book allowed authors to explore “what if“ questions about society because it creates a world where dragons are a normal animal living in people's towns. People ride and train dragons in this world, where in our reality this is not the norm. The book challenges the idea of what if dragons lived in your city and people rode them around.
