Tonight‘s treelight read. Maybe it‘s because it took me over a year to source THE REVOLUTION BUSINESS and a couple months beyond that to actually read it, but it feels very much like a bridge book. Stuff‘s happening, and it‘ll probably be important to the grande finale, but it hasn‘t gripped me the way the first four volumes did. Oh well. It‘s still interesting, just not AS interesting as I expected it to be.

So I will always love the original books that this is based on, and I was excited to hear that his perspective had come out as an independent story. It added a nuance to the tale that I otherwise would not have gotten. For that alone, this is a solid pick. I do however implore the potential reader to read her perspective first. Starting with Kushiel‘s Dart. #recentlyread #companionbook #romance #fantasy #alternateuniverse

Another fun visit into the world of #HisDarkMaterials and #BookofDust with an interesting short story. In some ways I feel like this opens the opportunity to expand even more on the world and I'm not sure what will happen in the final installment of BoD. Also still waiting to see when BoD3 is going to be released! Next up in the canonical read-through, “Serpentine“, being delivered to my local library soon!

This started out strong and lagged a bit in the middle then ended a little stronger. I guess the idea was too far fetched for me and I kind of loathe interest. Still a pretty good read though. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was really good. 4.5☆
Annie has a lovely house in the country and a beautiful daughter Hannah. She left behind her artist career to become a mom and live a dream. When she has the accident taking Hannah to the Dr, a truck smashes into her. She wakes up and is told she doesn't have a daughter. Thus her 'new' life begins. She searches and searches even while finding out she lives⬇️

Crazeedi In NYC now and has had success as an artist. Are there really 2 lives she's lived? 10mo
CBee Sounds like a good one! 10mo

I finally had a chance to tally up my 2023 reads and update my Goodreads list. I‘m quite happy with the end result although I‘d have preferred that I‘d stuck with my goal of reading mostly my own books. There‘s just so many good ones at my library!😅 I‘m going to try to make more of a dent in my TBR this year. And I‘ve upped my GR goal from 60 to 75 books. 🤞🏽Hope everyone has an amazing reading year in 2024!💜

marleed You could apply my theory to library loans… I few years back I saw a breakdown on my taxes and I think it was $245 went toward my public library. So let‘s say I can get new books at a discounted $15. That means I need to read 16 books to nullify my tax cost. Same theory after 16+, I start subtracting $15 from my tax bill for each book read! …So, now it‘s totally justified when I hit my library TBR over my physical TBR! 12mo
PurpleyPumpkin @marleed That‘s a fantastic approach! Looking at it this way, I HAVE to use the library for at least some of my yearly reading. I like it! Thanks so much for sharing!🙌🏽 12mo
marleed @PurpleyPumpkin Absolutely, I don‘t consider my library use as free until I‘ve surpassed 16 loans. Then I still don‘t think of it as free so much as making tax dollars work to my advantage. 12mo

4.6⭐️ Is it corny? Yes. Are there parts that made me cringe? Also yes. Did I love it anyways? A most ardent yes! This series has been so fun, and I can‘t wait to read book four next month.

I just finished doing another reading sprint for the Sprinting Through August readathon. Chapter 12 was 3 hours long but I finished it. I‘m almost finished with this book. I have 3 chapters left in this book and 23 minutes left in this audiobook but I‘m not reading any more of this book tonight. I‘m going to go to bed and finish this book tomorrow.
