So I will always love the original books that this is based on, and I was excited to hear that his perspective had come out as an independent story. It added a nuance to the tale that I otherwise would not have gotten. For that alone, this is a solid pick. I do however implore the potential reader to read her perspective first. Since I didn‘t get any recommendations from my last post, my sister came through and chose this book. It is definitely a thriller and reads like one (I was speed reading and done in a day and a half), but tbh maybe it is not cup of tea, maybe it was the ⚠️☠️🩸 but I was put off by some of it, despite the meaningful message in the end. So, some things don‘t change. 🫠 I still can‘t write reviews timely. But at least I got through it. I am in new territory. It was still emotional, a roller coaster and a story of growth with some heartbreaks and triggers (🔥😭😞) but some positive stuff, too. I‘m borrowing a copy from a coworker (I will own it one day!!) and so the picture isn‘t mine. I am so glad that the hype was not over exaggerated! Violet is awesome (bookish badass) and the school she gets to go to is brutal, but fun and has some powerful lessons. There is the sexual tension, too. And 🐉!! Hands down ended up the favorite of this series, so far. But I was so angry (confused?) at first. I didn‘t expect the dark twist (perhaps I should have?) and was so angry at Tamlin! But the city was a shock, and her growth was inspiring. And I must say Rhysand is a surprise. Of course blissful peace and growth eternal would be so boring 🤣 so there‘s the impending doom, war & conspiracy, too. #recentlyread #nospoilers #fantasy

Anger. Surrender. Bliss. Devastation. Triumph. All those emotions and more are encountered in this initial book of the series. I cried. I cheered. I groaned and winced. By the end I was rooting for Feyre with all my heart, and couldn‘t wait to dive into book 2. #recentlyread #nospoilers #fantasy
