This was just okay. I did the audio and every time I listened I felt like I was watching a Disney educational reel from back in the day. This is an alt history but all of the characters were morally gray so it was hard to actually root for any of them. It also felt more like three novellas tied together by genealogy. There were definitely a lot of -isms that definitely left a bad taste.
#BookReport
I failed at all my reading goals this week but I mean it happens so I'm trying not to dwell on that. I've gotten to about 71% of the tagged and 48% in Grass. I also realized I'm never going to catch up with the ReadingWesteros read a long so I've put that book to the side and maybe I'll read it later or maybe not.
#WeeklyForecast
Goal this week is pretty much the same as last week: Finish both of my current reads.
“Fuck Geoffrey,” Brand said. “He‘s lucky I‘m not hiding outside the sanctum, making ghost sounds. What‘s happening now?” Hee hee hee I love Brand.
Side quest, does anyone else logically know that Geoffrey is pronounced the same as Jeffrey, but still read it in your head as GEE OFF REE?
I am posting one book per day from my extensive, and ever growing, TBR shelves. Some are old and some are new, some were gifts and some I don't remember why I bought them.
Day 41
#ABookADay2024
What the hecking heck. I need a hug. And some tissues. And Brand, though that is for a very different reason….
For the record, I am madly in love with Brand. Who is not a villain. What a refreshing change of pace. I loved this book. 16/10 ⭐️
I will admit that there were many instances of extreme discomfort while I read this book. And after finishing it, I know the next book has the potential of even more discomforting situations. Like I am incredibly tense right now. But it was an amazingly entertaining book and I am starting the next book now.
I am so deep in a reading slump that I am starting to feel ashamed. I need to get out of the slump! So here we go. I‘ll try to finish this one.
