Welcome to Litsy!

This was my first time reading Walter Mosley, but it won't be my last. I love the slow burn of his writing. It's atmospheric, emotional, & gripping. Easy Rawlins officially has a spot on my list of favorite sleuths/detectives. I enjoyed getting to see his journey in this book & can't wait to see how he grows & changes over the course of the series.

Open and honest without being too over the top in offering cringeworthy info. Mara Wilson is smart and understands herself well, and she is a great storyteller. Her experiences with anxiety were relatable for me, and her insights into OCD were eye-opening.

Basically, she seems like a really cool person to hang out with. The very beginning of the book was not my favorite, but it was absolutely worth it. Letter W for #litsyatoz

My book seat came in the mail today and am so excited!! Saw them first at #bookriotlive but wasn't sure how I would get two of them (one for the hubby one for me) home on the plane. Ordered on line and can read hands free now!!

It is a snowy day here in NYC, so my book is feeling particularly appropriate! I picked this one up at #bookriotlive on the recommendation of one of the booksellers there. I'm excited to dive into this one. Plus, look at that gorgeous cover!

Pretty much the only reason I can participate at all in #SignedSunday is because of all of the wonderfull staff, volunteers, and writers/artists who made #BookRiotLive happen last month.

This was a wonderful, touching story of two queer girls growing up in Iran. It kept me company during the plane ride home from #BookRiotLive I'm sure the guy in the next seat was wondering why I would suddenly break out crying. Parts of it are not exactly subtle, but it's a lovely story overall.

I'm not usually a retail therapy kind of person, but the emotional turmoil of last week, combined with being in NYC for #BookRiotLive lead me to make an exception. Thanks to all of that, I have a halfway decent #bookpyramid (in two parts because of the limits of my bedside shelf).
