Ahh the famous 5! Is there anywhere they can't go by bike? #somethingforsept #bookssetbythesea
Pass the ginger beer! And get ready for an adventure 😉

I'm a bit terrified of tsunamis. I'm signed up to receive text notifications of emergencies on the coast, even though I don't live on the coast. We love to visit, but I always know the escape routes.
I only read this book because it's an Oregon Battle of the Books selection, and I'm on the committee. It's terrifying. People die. I won't tell you which people though. You've been warned.
I'm checking a few boxes with this book: #bookssetbythesea, #libraryhaul & #tbrtuesday 😄 this books also put me at my limit for checkouts at the library 😳 oh, litsy, look what you do to me! #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge
Day 20 #SeptemberPhotoChallenge #bookssetbythesea My sea-set pick is Mark Twain's travel letters from a 1866 trip to the Hawaiian Islands. Written when he was 31, his trip underwritten by a Sacramento newspaper, I wouldn't call this Twain's best-but considering it was written 150 years ago, it's a fascinating & humorous observation of Hawaii in that era. Warning: There are moments of cringe-worthy racism common for the times.🌴🍍#somethingforsept
Here's my collage for #bookssetbythesea.
I didn't really get on with the Flanagan book to the extent that I never tried his Booker winner, but I love that this UK hardback printed each chapter in a different colour of ink to represent the different inks the narrator was able to make from the fish he caught.

The Norsemen invade England from their monstrously frightening Viking boats! This is a terrific set of #bookssetbythesea. #somethingforsept
Finally, day 20 of #septemberphotochallenge! I had to include my favorite swim cap and goggles for #bookssetbythesea, and if anyone wants to know TYR is my favorite cap brand!
(Shout out to all you swimmers out there!!!)

Ingrid Noll is my go-to contemporary German writer for dark humor, wicked female protagonists, and clever plotting. Unfortunately, only 3 of her books are available in English. They are available in some other languages, though, so if you are bilingual, try one of her books! 📚 #bookssetbythesea #somethingforseptember #septemberphotochallenge
