⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was amazing!! It dealt with so many issues with society, mainly police brutality. I thought this book was written wonderfully, as it also focused on Starr‘s (the main character‘s) relationships with her friends, family, and others in society. I would definitely recommend this book!!

This book was just absolutely amazing. The only reason why I docked it a bit was because some of the things said were a bit cringey and it took a bit to get used to Simon‘s voice. Other than that, I loved it so much, and the movie was excellent as well! I did manage to finish this within a day, and I‘m glad I read it before seeing the movie. Definitely recommend to everyone!!

I didn‘t finish my other book, but my mom wants to see this movie tomorrow for $5 movies, so you know what that means! Time to read this entire book in a day (or at least try to).

sammisho You can do it!!! It's short and sweet, and so cute you won't want to put it down! 7y
bananasbooks @sammisho We got our tickets for tomorrow at 5:30 so I‘m fairly confident I‘ll be able to finish it!! I‘ve been wanting to read this book for so long, I finally have an excuse to do it! 7y

sammisho My 11yo really wants to see it, I don't think she is quite mature enough to handle some of the language in the book, so I am unsure about letting her see the movie. Let me know how it is! 7y
bananasbooks @sammisho I just saw the movie and it was amazing!!! WAY better than I expected, and not too different from the book, but different in good ways. I personally don‘t know if an 11yo should see it bc it does include a lot of sexual references and “mature” comedy. It is only PG-13 so the swearing isn‘t like in the book, but there still is a lot of it. Of course, it‘s all up to you, and you can look at the parents guide in IMDB if you want! 7y
bananasbooks I do think, tho, that it‘s an important movie that everyone needs to see bc it deals with really important topics 7y

Salt to the Sea | Ruta Sepetys

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Salt to the Sea was a powerful book. It takes place at the end of WWII, written in super short chapters, only a few pages each, with alternating first person POVs, which made it easy to fly through. Each character had their own story, all meeting up on the Wilhelm Gustloff. One thing though, the romance felt very rushed. Despite that, this book (the ending especially) was deep and terrifyingly detailed, but still amazing and memorable.

This book was really good! It took me so long to read only because of how busy I‘ve been, but once I started reading, I couldn‘t stop! Ruby was a great main character, and I loved that it was first person POV. The story was interesting enough—I‘m always a sucker for superpowers. My only issue was the romantic subplot, it just didn‘t really work for me. If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

It's still technically summer, but I am so ready for colder weather!! It's getting chillier outside and the leaves are starting to finally change, so I decided to put on my favorite reindeer slippers (the red noses light up!) to get more in the mood of autumn, even though reindeers are more winter-like. What are you most excited about autumn for?
🍂🍁☕️

Natalia Yay reindeers ! I just saw Pumpkin spice latte in Starbucks (yay) Also I'm reading HP and the half blond prince, so now autumn starts🍂🍁! 7y

It was ok, I had to read it for school. It wasn't bad of course, but it didn't particularly wow me either. I'm glad it was first person POV, though, otherwise it would have definitely bored me. Just an average book for me!

I'm gonna be really specific and say 3.99/5
Illuminae was—interesting. The format is very unique, which made it extremely hard to get into and to understand, but once you get it, the book is actually really good!! Because of the format, I also didn't really have a connection with any of the characters. Overall, though, I enjoyed Illuminae, and I would definitely recommend it to fans of science-fiction!

Linear Try the audiobook version. It helped make the story more, for lack of a better term, Linear, than the chaotic pages make it seem. 7y
bananasbooks @Linear I'll have to try it! Thanks for the tip!! 7y

Happy 20th anniversary to Harry Potter!! I can't believe this book is 20 years old! I remember when I read the first book—in 3rd grade, my mom forced me to read the first chapter, and if I didn't like it, I could stop, but of course it hooked me and I finished the whole series! I've been meaning to reread these books, and hopefully this will help motivate me! What is your Hogwarts house? I'm a Ravenclaw!!💙

I really liked this book! The diversity was absolutely amazing, the plot was interesting, and I loved this cultural aspect in this book! My only issue was that it felt kind of rushed, or maybe that certain parts needed to be explained a bit more because at some points, I was a bit confused on what had just happened/what was happening currently. Other than that, it was really good!

4.99 to be exact! THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD!!!! I loved this sort of retelling of history, and I especially loved all of the movie references!! The only thing I didn't like too much was the pacing, which wasn't fast, but it wasn't slow either if you know what I mean. It made it a bit difficult to get into, but other than that, amazing!!!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book! It didn't blow me away, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it, and I would definitely recommend it to fans of historical fiction, especially during the WW2 era. The only things that I didn't like were that I felt that the romance was a bit cheesy, and the majority of the characters I didn't particularly like, probably because of the whole Nazi thing. Other than that, I thought this was a great book!
