Pickpick

I adored every second of this book. The relationships between characters are so well fleshed out and intricate. The way in which it explored love, longing and anguish is incredible.

“-existence, after loosing her, would be hell.

Wuthering Heights | Emily Brontë

“No mother could have nursed an only child more devotedly than Edgar tended her. Day and night, he was watching, and patiently enduring all the annoyances that irritable nerves and shaken reason could inflict [...] his health and strength were being sacrificed to preserve a mere ruin of humanity, he knew no limits in gratitude and joy, when Catherine's life was declared out of danger,“

My first time reading this, I was under the impression this was a romance 💀 , I was really surprised how much I disliked everyone, I really hated Heathcliff, he was so UNRELENTING. Great ending, great gothic tale of revenge. I‘m happy about Cathy and Hareton. I want to watch an adaptation now but there are so many, what‘s the best adaptation? Grateful for any suggestions!🖤

Balibee146 I haven't read this book in probably 30 years...Long overdue for a re read. I tend to like TV adaptations as th longer format gives the story room to play out. There's one from 2009 with Tom Hardy which I'm sure I enjoyed ta the time. 1mo
Balibee146 Arghhh typos lol 🤦 1mo
Balibee146 Oh and I do love the oldest movie with Laurence Olivier clunky by modern standards but special 1mo
reading_rainbow @Balibee146 Tom Hardy!? Thank you I will look and see if it‘s to stream anywhere! 1mo

My late Aunt gave this to me years ago, and since she's passed, it's made it that much more special to me. 💕

"But as it is, you must not let your fancy run away with you. You have sense, and we all expect you to use it." - Chapter 26

#Pemberlittens of course I bought another copy of Pride and Prejudice this year. I've had my eye this Puffin in Bloom edition but waited for my Birthday to buy. ?
