Title translation: Someone like you.

Benavent‘s choice for the weekend: Book 2 of the “Mi elección” (My choice) trilogy.

I couldn‘t wait to get to this one, book 1‘s ending was ??‍♀️?

This was very entertaining, possibly the spiciest book I‘ve read from the author so far, and the end, which was kind of predictable (Alba starts a sexual relationship with Hugo and Nico…who are best friends, roommates and business partners…and the 3 are coworkers…what could possibly go wrong?), still makes me curious enough to grab the second installment.

Ummm... Yuk?

I‘m obviously not the target market for this (or any) #eroticnovel, so I was going to so-so it and quietly step away. But the thoroughly-unpleasant Logan cupped her chin in his hands once too often, and I lost patience- I kept expecting the storyline to turn nasty. As against just yuk.

Can I go back to my chaste, melancholy, quirky Japanese fiction now please?

In case you were wondering, I read this for #BBRC - 😝thank you

LibrarianRyan Yes you can. I never did like Maya Banks books 3y

rockpools @batsy Just for variety, I have a #SpinsterStreetSign for you somewhere- I‘ll find an excuse to post it later! 3y
rockpools @BookwormM Reading outside of your comfort zone is all well and good. Until it isn‘t! 3y
Centique I love the way you described that niche of Japanese fiction. I love that too. 😍 3y

Super fun romance featuring a driven PHd student who has no interest in actual relationships agreeing to a fake-for-the-Internet relationship with a handsome former rugby player to help his charity get off the ground. #bbrc #growup #eroticnovel I guess - it‘s got the sexy, hope it‘s enough for ‘erotic‘ #readmyowndamnbooks #bookspinbingo

A co worker recommended this to me a few months ago after I mentioned I enjoy romances. She has been hounding me to read so we can discuss. Well...it is awful. I can't even finish it. I DO enjoy romance novels, and the more ??? the better, but this was just unreadable. Anytime an author uses the word "rosette" to describe a body part, I am out. And I will let you use your imagination on what body part that was.

This was just as much fun as I hoped it'd be. Beginner actress Mia has debts, so she agrees to spend a year as a high-priced escort. Every month she takes on a new assignment, and every month she learns something new about herself from her clients. By March, I was TOTALLY hooked.

Carlan does have a major problem with switching between past & present tense, often within the same sentence, but if you can look past that this is worth checking out.
