My Brilliant Friend: Neapolitan Novels, Book One | Elena Ferrante

After listening to a recent podcast by @thereadingwomen in which they discuss #ferrantefever: I placed this book on hold at my library, thinking it would be a little while before it came in for me. Well, it came in much earlier than I expected. Now I am juggling an extra book+audio! Library holds are unpredictable beasts + also quite exciting.

👉🏻 I'm seeing mixed reviews for this series out there. Who has read this? Thoughts?

Blaire I felt similarly to @Cinfhen, I saw so many people say they couldn't put these down, but while I appreciated the writing, I didn't feel particularly invested in the characters. I liked the second one a bit more than the first, but haven't gone any farther. Left me unexpectedly cold. Wrong book at wrong time? 9y
