Pleased to pick this up at a local women-owned boutique on #smallbusinesssaturday as I continue my tarot learning journey. I love the author's intuitive approach to tarot - it makes the practice so accessible! ✨

I know there's a lot to say about this book, but really, what's up with the lack of quotation marks for any of the conversations between characters?? Did this throw off anyone else?

I ? Loved ? This ? Book ? !!! I related to it on so many levels from linguistics and philosophy to teaching ESL abroad, but most of all I fell in love with Selin's voice. This is one a few dozen passages I highlighted: "It felt amazing to eat anything without having to listen, nod, smile, or do anything with my eyebrows." ?

Lately I'm loving these #amazonoriginalstories with different authors contributing on a certain theme. In this case, "the one" is described by various authors as a passing or lasting partner, dog, or best friend.

These are free on #kindle and #audible with Amazon #primereading! @Litsy hasn't added the titles yet, but the tagged author was my favorite of this series.

A woman's story as told through the eyes of her husband, then her brother-in-law, then her sister. For me this was a story about feminism through subversion.

"Whether human, animal or plant, she could not be called a “person,” but then she wasn‘t exactly some feral creature either— more like a mysterious being with qualities of both."

Privately, we cannot stand our lives and dare not examine them; domestically, we take no responsibility for (and no pride in) what goes on in our country; and, internationally, for many millions of people, we are an unmitigated disaster."

scripturient-ink Baldwin is still so relevant, it's amazing (not in a very good way though ...). His *entire* work is currently being retranslated into German, that probably says it all. 5mo

Three sisters embark on a pilgrimage to India upon their mother's dying wish. Each sister is hiding something from the others and the trip tests their values and relationships.

I felt that I got to know each sister so well thanks to great character development. This book was a good reminder that we don't always know the story behind why someone behaves the way they do. Though I didn't love it as much as ESFPW, still a pick!

Normally I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to a solid thriller, but this one was too predicable for my taste. I was hoping for a more twisty ending, but it turned out to be exactly what was hinted at all along. 🤷‍♀️
