I just came back from a gigantic book sale for charity that happens in my community every year. I picked up the Nancy Drew books, as they'll be coming up soon in the #NancyDrewBR hosted by @Librarybelle.

Reading the ND books these past months has made me nostalgic for the childhood mystery series I loved, so when I saw these Vicki Barr books, I had to bring them home too!

Librarybelle Love this!! 8mo
Ruthiella Great haul! 👍 8mo
mcctrish I‘ve never heard of Vicky Barr. I used to save my allowance and go to Woolco on the first Tuesday of the month ( sale day ) and buy the next Nancy Drew in the series ( might have been $1.44 day 🤯) 8mo

kwmg40 @Librarybelle @Ruthiella Now that my kids are grown up, I miss buying children's books for them, so I guess I have to buy them for myself. 😂 8mo
kwmg40 @mcctrish I hadn't read many from the Vicki Barr series when I was a child but I did enjoy the Cherry Ames series by Helen Wells. Thanks for sharing your story about how you got the ND books. My parents gave me a budget to spend on monthly Scholastic orders and that's how I got mine. We were not well off so didn't have fancy clothes or toys, but they never skimped on books and good food. 8mo
mcctrish I liked Cherry Ames too ( didn‘t realize the author had another series ) which I must have gotten from the library. My allowance was 25 cents so I must have augmented with birthday and special occasion money or I cut a deal with my parents for books ( most likely ) 8mo
kwmg40 @mcctrish Definitely a good use of allowance and gift money! 8mo

I finished my first #auldlangspine recommendation from @MeganAnn ! This was a captivating memoir of the author's experience as a TWA flight attendant in the late 70s and early 80s. This was buried deep in my TBR, so thanks to @MeganAnn for bringing it to the forefront! Also thanks to @monalyisha !

MeganAnn I‘m so happy you enjoyed it! This was a surprise favorite for me that I just happened across at the library. 😍 12mo
Karisimo @meganAnn I made Linguini Carbonara for dinner tonight because she mentioned eating it in Italy during her travels and it's been on my mind ever since! 11mo
MeganAnn @Karisimo yum! Sounds delicious! Wait until you get to the tagged book. I was craving Italian food the entire time I was reading it! 11mo

Made myself a little inflight snack and drink situation to go with this book, which I'm loving.

Managed to get a little break from work today, so went to The National Air and Space Museum in Washington. After fangirling over the Apollo 11 lunar module (which was so cool) of course I left the gift shop with a book.

Megabooks That‘s a really fun museum! 2y

Picked this up on an audible sale and so glad I did. I love to fly so it was great learning more about the history of flight attendants too.

What a wonderful, nostalgic look at the airline industry from the perspective of the stewardess (flight attendant). What a glorious job to hold! Every girl wanted to be her and few were. This is a peak behind the curtain and so enlightening.

I liked this well enough, but all the aviation memoirs and stories I‘ve been reading have started to blur together, so I might not have found this as fresh as I would have liked. Maybe read this and then read Come Fly the World, rather than the other way around.
