Listened to the audio of this one. Great fun YA adventure game book.

This was a phenomenal read. I was hesitant to read it because sometimes books depicting slavery are hard to get through. But this was a great read

I mean . . . Obviously picked this up because of the title and then was intrigued that the author wrote the pina colada song. It was a disappointment, maybe 200 pages too long. It was also written in kind of a weird pretentiousness. The structure of the the characters stories was ok, but it was confusing. And kind of all over the place

Trying to read a few classics this year. This was very good coming of age story of a very poor girl and her family.

I had this one in my holds for a long time and kept passing it over. So glad I finally got to it. Very good- heartbreaking in some ways infuriating in others.

This a good book and covers a large range of themes. I think I‘m just not a fan of her writing style

A great thriller, twist is predictable but still fun to read

This starts out quirky and clever and turns to heartbreaking and ends heartwarming. Short at 250 pages but took me a while to read for some reason I could only absorb a small amount at a time.

Just ok rom com for me. YA set at a university. A lot of racial stuff happening. The love story was sweet though.

This book did not disappoint. A decades long epic and heartbreaking crime thriller. And I ‘bleeping‘ love Charlotte she is exactly what I wanted her to be.

Read this to help myself remember the story before a read James. I don‘t never if I ever read it in its entirety maybe only excerpts. The language makes it slow to read. Not a huge fan, not even sure why it‘s a classic. It does convey a time period well and the treatment of slaves.

Very quirky book. Hard to follow at times but I think that‘s an intentional perspective of the author. Liked it but didn‘t love it

A little Christmas horror story written to be read like an advent calendar. I read it straight through instead. It was creepy and suspenseful. And gave off all the snowy cold winter vibes.

Good, but weird. Not my usual genre. Definitely kept me engaged but it was a little too sci fi / apocalyptic for my taste. I enjoyed the unusual love story that the story spiraled around.

Fun YA murder mystery!! Lots of twist. I love the way you get to try to figure out who the murder is along the way

Not at all what I expected. I loved it! I thought it was about gaming, but more about growing up, relationships ( friends and lovers and colleagues) it‘s about failing and then figuring out how to get over it and it‘s about loss. So much heart.

A good, quick, little thriller

I chose this one because it was set in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles are and I was traveling there for my daughters Cal Poly graduation. It was a decent private investigator read and fun to read about all the different areas where I was. This picture was from our hike in Cambria.
