Butterfly Garden | Dot Hutchison

Just before I go get some sleep, I thought I‘d share this picture I just took of my butterfly bush in bloom. I‘m pretty sure it‘s a Buddleja “ Autumn Beauty” as it‘s a month into autumn here in Australia, either way it‘s a gorgeous plant that attracts honeybees & butterflies to my garden & smells like flowery honey. Hooked_on_books What a gorgeous color! I have an anthurium farm in Hawaii and the flowers are starting to increase their numbers, so there‘s lots of color now out in the fields. 4y

My sweet neighbor who is 86 years old and looks like she's 70, and is busy like she's 40, gave me this. It's called *clivia*. I thought I knew a lot of plants, but I've never heard of this one! I hope I can plant it outside!

Freespirit They are very popular here in Australia @Crazeedi ...hardy and will tolerate dry conditions. They like to be watered in the really hot weather. You see them in mass plantings in parks and gardens. I think they originally come from Africa. 5y

Freespirit @Crazeedi it would tolerate frosts...not sure about snow and extreme cold...but doesn't like wet feet. I think you could plant in a pot and put in part shade and it should do well. 5y
