⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We don‘t deserve dogs. This is the story of the goodest girl, a guide dog named Roselle. She calmly led her human and others down 78 stories of the North Tower, and through smoke, dust, and debris, to safety. As he should, Hingson also uses this as a platform to destigmatize blindness. A very worthwhile read!

Michael Hingson was on the 78th floor of tower one when the first plane hit. This is the story of how he and his guide dog lived through the day. It is also the story of his life. It's hard to say I enjoyed this because of the subject but I did find it interesting. #Booked2021 #RelatedTo9-11 @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage

BarbaraTheBibliophage Wow - another interesting choice for this prompt. They are all hard books to read, that‘s for sure. 3y
Cinfhen I love reading the survival stories!! While so many perished we need to celebrate those who made it out ♥️🙌🏻 3y

A great story about a 14 year old girl who goes blind and how her guide dog gives her freedom and confidence.

Today, on 9/11, I‘m co-hosting a work book club discussion on Thunder Dog. I can‘t imagine what New Yorkers experienced on this day, 19 years ago. I can only recall my own disbelief and horror as I watched the footage on TV.

Michael, who‘s blind, escaped the north tower of the World Trade Center with the help of his guide dog Roselle. She remained calm and therefore, calmed him. Everyone should read this amazing story of teamwork and trust.

I read this book in high school. It is about a girl that goes blind at a young age. Super good story.

Amiable My goodness, that brings back memories! I also read this book as a teen. In fact, I think I had this exact version! The cover looks familiar. 5y

I listened to this book on audio and enjoyed it overall. It‘s the story about Michael and Roselle during the events of 9/11. It describes their day in the office and the harrowing journey to get out of the tower in time. It‘s also about Michael‘s life as a blind man and how he hasn‘t let being blind define his life.
