I fell in love with Duff when I read his first book, and now I fell in love with him all over again. The man is super cool but also very down to earth, honest and authentic.
That said, I enjoyed "It's so easy" a lot more. It's a tighter book with a strong theme, whereas this one is a mixed bag.

Ugh. No.
Misogynistic crap. All sex & drugs, with no Rock n Roll. DNF.

This could, however, be an interesting drinking game.
Take a shot every time he says "chicks", "smack" and "dude" or every time he shoots up or mentions "some chick" he nails.
Check yourself into rehab by chapter 4.

fanbookart Finally!!!! Someone who also thinks the term 'chick' referring to a woman is sexist! 👍 2y
jamield1911 @fanbookart he's very sexist. I was bored of reading the graphic details of his sexual conquests very early on. I believe he thought bragging about his orgies and "chicks" made him seem interesting, I found it to be quite the opposite! I'll still listen to his music though! ? 2y

Guys, it's Slash. Obviously, it was AWESOME. 🤟

I love this man. He's the reason I picked up a guitar for the first time. He defined my taste in music.

This was such a candid autobiography. Slash goes into detail about his addictions (alcohol, cocaine, heroin and women) it was refreshing to read about someone who admits full responsibility for their actions and doesn't look for someone else to blame for their problems.

A true Rock Star. 🫶❤️

Took this little diamond for a jog/run today. He's my soul mate. We needed a break from all the sex, drugs and Rock n Roll of "Slash". The soundtrack was naturally Guns N Roses and Velvet Revolver though ??

Of all the rock'n'roll bios I've read (and I've read quite a few) this is my absolute favourite. Duff is intelligent, reflective, and takes responsibility for his choices. Also, he knows how to tell a good story.

Honourable mentions:
I am not a serial killer by Dan Wells
Ida regénye by Géza Gárdonyi
In the Heart of the Sea by Nathaniel Philbrick

This is a fast and dirty read about one of the bands of the ‘90‘s everyone seems to recognize even if they don‘t like rock. Plenty of behind the scenes information and interaction of the various band members. I love rock bios like this one.

Just one of the books I got this past weekend! All time favorite band and Guitarist. And Morrisons poetry is amazing.

Instead of going with my go-to favourites, today I'd like to mention
(1) my love of rock biographies and the pure brilliance Duff's book is 🤘🤘🤘
(2) my undying love for Gabriel Oak ❤️❤️❤️
(3) one of my favourite Hungarian authors, Géza Gárdonyi, with whom I share the same initials btw.

Duff Man! Oh yeah!
There's a reason why he is one of my favourite Guns guys.
He has been to hell and back and came back stronger.
I loved his stories about Grace his daughter.
