What an odd picture I have taken here... it‘s like half of the book was leaving? 😂

I liked this book, but didn‘t love it as I thought I would (should?). The writing is great, the cast of characters is colorful, and the Count is an awesome character. I enjoyed story built around this period in Russian history, but ultimately the whole thing was just a little too whimsical or unrealistic.

Loved googling the Hotel Metropol, though!

Prairiegirl_reading I‘m having trouble focusing on it. It was my irl book club pick that was supposed to happen tonight but is cancelled so I‘m putting it aside for now. It‘s not that it isn‘t well written, it‘s totally me right now. 5y

Cinfhen It took me a long time to warm up to this book but ultimately I LOVED it. It‘s a wonderful choice for #Booked2020 🎩♥️ 5y
alisiakae This was my original pick for this prompt. Alas, it is still sitting on my TBR shelf since I picked something else. 😁 5y
sprainedbrain @4thhouseontheleft I‘ve got one more book to go, but so far I have filled all of the winter prompts with old BOTM books from my shelves. 😬😂 5y

Finished the #Booked2020 #Winter Challenge! Below are my books for each prompt:
1. #milleniallauthor
2. #hatonthecover
3. #liveandlearn (learned about the Rwanda genocide)
4. #setinhollywood
5. #covercrush
6. #readinaday

Daisy Jones and The Girl Who Smile Beads were by far my favorites. The rest were just okay and not ones I would rush to read again or recommend.

Now on to spring!

Oh, I really enjoyed this. It‘s basically a story of love and friendship overcoming some of life‘s cruelties. There are some heart tugging bits, but there is an underlying theme of hope and happiness.

I liked this one fine but wasn‘t bowled over. I enjoyed the mix of history and mystery but a couple of the characters got on my nerves.
