This is a slow burn - but so wonderfully written. It's like...if Charles Dickens were to write a fantasy novel it might look something like this.

I love the characters in this book, I love the alt. history and most importantly...I love the magic.

This one might not be for everyone, but for me, it was definitely something special. ❤️

Zelma Great review and I completely agree. I loved the writing style and just adored this book so much. I also kept wanting more stories from the footnotes! I could have a read this book for another thousand pages. 6y

Grise Oh it‘s been sooo long. But I remember I enjoyed it. This was pre kindle, and i can‘t fathom how I managed to log that giant book around with me. It must have been worth it. 6y

Linsy I enjoyed this a lot, switching between audio and ebook to help with the long parts. It‘s well written and interesting, but can get slow at times. 6y

Kelly Link is surprisingly creative. Short stories are fun because you do not have to read them in order and you can come back to the book when it suits you. I recommend "The Faery Handbag" and "The Great Divorce". #Itsmagic #it‘smagic
