Multiple narrators enhanced the story of 3 generations of a family in Brooklyn, NY. Ultimately, it was a story of motherhood and its many faces. Iris, the main character, chooses to escape to Oberlin,far away from Brooklyn. Much to ponder. Beautiful writing for most of the book. Although at times, I felt disappointed, there is no doubt that Jacqueline Woodson is a star. #authoramonth #jacquelinewoodson @Soubhiville
