This is a picture book of poetry with beautiful illustrations and a great message! I would use this in a RA to teach students a lesson about diversity! It is about a kid who is wondering if things in life know what color they are. He says if they could be any color that they would be all the colors! At the end he realizes that everyone and everything is a different color, but that is ok! #lae3414f17

MakennaK I would use EL strategy 2, promote cooperation. During this, students will be able to talk to one another about diversity and discover new ideas and thoughts from other students! I would use UDL 2.4, promote understanding across languages, because it allows for more diversity and for all types of students to learn! 7y

AJones What a beautiful book! My kindergarteners would absolutely love Brynne Barnes' playful rhymes, and I like how she asks questions throughout the book. This strategy gets students thinking. I also love Annika M. Nelson's vivid illustrations. ❤️📚I agree this book would enhance any lesson on diversity. Children need to understand it's alright to be different more now than ever. This is a hilarious F PB, winner of the, "Goodreads best choice picture book", that I would use in a RA with younger children. It is all about a pigeon who is refusing to take a bath even though he is very dirty and smells very bad! https://youtu.be/mhiD4jfOj9o this is a video of a read aloud that I would show my class! I would use EL 14 by reading the book very slow and clear with fun voices. This will help beginner ELs.

AlexaDP I remember first hearing about this good from a teacher I was observing who had students who did not like washing their hands. I thought it was hilarious and I knew that it would be one of the firsts to go in my classroom library! 7y

kkidwell I am in love with these books! I even own the pigeon plush. Each of these books has a lesson that younger students can learn from. Especially this one, as others have pointed out, children have a difficult time understanding the importance of handwashing and bathing in general. 7y
