The Man Who Walked Between the Towers is a Caldecott HF book. This book would be good for storytelling. The book talks about a man who walks between the twin towers in New York City. The story teaches a little bit of history about the twin towers. The man sees them when he is in the park and has to walk on a wire between the two. He knew that he wouldnt get away with it so he had to sneak up to the top of the twin towers and set up the wire

Alistair in Outer Space is a SF book about a little boy who was taken into outer space by two Goots. The Goots really liked Alistair. This book would be wonderful for a IR or a PR. The students could work together to read and think about what they would do if something like this happened to them (even thought it's not real). It could be a fun activity for the students. The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs written by Jon Scieszka is a TL book about the big bad wolf's side of the story with the three little pigs. The wolf was trying to cook a cake for his grandma's birthday and he didn't have sugar so he needed to ask his neighbors for some sugar. She Persisted is a story about 13 American women who changed the world. This non-fiction book is written by Chelsea Clinton and illustrated by Alexandra Boiger. The story tells what each of the 13 women did and how they persisted to make their dreams and beliefs come true. I would use this in my class room as a read aloud. The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill is a wonderful book about a town called the Protectorate. Every year this town sacrifices the youngest child to a witch named Xan. The people of Protectorate hope that by sacrificing the youngest child they will keep their town safe. However, Xan means no harm. When Xan took in the baby girl she fed her moonlight instead of starlight and the baby girl (Luna) became magical.

Wonder by RJ Palacio is a a great RF book about a boy who isn't like most children his age. He is an extraordinary person and not many people are willing to give him a chance. This book would be great if it was used for a literature circle. I think that everyone should read this book no matter what age. The book Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin is a Caldecott Award winning picture book. This book is a F story that is super fun to read to your class. The book would be wonderful as a RA or a RT. You could have all the students join in when they say "Click, Clack, Moo". The UDL strategy I would use is 6.1 guide appropriate goal setting. This would be a wonderful book to read before they come up with a request from Farmer Brown.

The book Sail Away, Little Boat is a P book about a little boy that makes a sail boat and the sail boat goes on a little journey and makes new friends. The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg is a LF Christmas story. I would use this as a readers theater around Christmas time. I would serve hot chocolate and decorate my classroom like the train. I would use ESOL 14 and UDL 2.5. This book won the caldecott award back in 1986. It's a wonderful story about a boy who isn't sure if Santa was real and he got to take the Polar Express to see for himself.

Otter in Space by Sam Garton is an AF book about a little otter who wants to travel to Space to get a moon rock with his Teddy bear. This book is great for showing kids how to plan something or how to make a list to get things done. The story is very silly and playful. The book Maple by Lori Nichols is contemporary realistic fiction book about a little girl named Maple who is named after a tree. This book is wonderful for children for children to come to terms for getting siblings and growing up. The book won the Giverny award in 2014.
