Surprisingly I never read this story as a child! So close to dr.seus and it just slipped right past me! THe giving tee is a P with a strategy of AS, this is how you find out the correlation to dr.seus but a different author! The giving tree is about a boy who takes away from the tree so grants him anything to make him happy, until he realizes all he ever truly needed was just the tree when he has the stump in front of him! Such a sad good lesson!

Shhhh I stole this story from another Litsy! It caught my attention when I noticed it was the Macy‘s day parade in NY which I can make a strong connection to my hometown, NY and I know who to thank now!This NF takes you through Tony Sargs idea that just kept growing into something magnificent! Orbis Pictus nominated in 2012 is a great way to RA and introduce Turkey Day to the class. Udl:6.4 EL:16 by showing a clip of the parades profess!

This encouraging SF picture book is about a hedgehog engineer who one day is offered the chance to go into space for his Dog coworkers who were to large for the rocket 🚀 Jan Brett loves animal themes and this was perfect to fit anyone who thinks they can‘t do something to always keep your fingers crossed and work hard. UDL 4.2 can go along with the tech theme of SF. #ucflae3414f17

I became excited when a classmate read this in class I had to go out and read it to my niece! An inspiring story about Humpty dumpty‘s climb to reach his goal on top of the wall. This is a great way to show kids to always get back up and try again! This TL would be perfect for a S or RT to see his “climb”. UDL: 3.1 of background of the original tale. EL: 4

This F written by Mo Willems is a laugh! In class this could be a great CR or S! I was so engaged when a student came around and had us always “tell the pigeon NO!” So that would be a great form of CR as well. I can go on and on about the amazing uses of this book in a classes! This B picture book describes the hard time Jackie Robinson went through as a baseball player and a segregated time period. DR would be a serious yet engaging way to have the class understand the importance of what he did. UDL 9.3 and ESOL: 3

Loved this RF book, loved the movie! This is a heartfelt novel of a boy who is bullied for reasons he can not change. It shows how Auggie struggles and overcomes many things at his school only to put a smile on your face. This novel is a great choice for students Incase they are ever bullied for something about themselves and how to look at the silver lining in life ever when you want to quit! RA and LC best fit this style. ESOL:8 UDL: 6.2

The girl who drank the moon was a very interesting F or TL book with a SSYRA. Although I did enjoy this book I feel it should be a higher level of reading. This story talks about a witch who takes children sacrifices from a town of elders, the twist is that she is a good witch! This book would work greatly in a class with LC as I did in this class! Or IR with a reflection. For ESOL I would use :25 and for UDL I would use 6.2
