I‘m not sure if I like this book or not. It‘s the story of a #multiracial (#Jewish/#Japanese) young woman, living with her boyfriend, who took a job as a researcher on #happiness at the world‘s third-most-popular internet company. I‘m not sure where this book is headed. Maybe once I figure that out, I might like it more.

This was an enjoyable read, set at the beginning in USA, Ellen lives in Washington DC and with foster parents. But life isn't easy. Suddenly she finds out that her long-lost father is rich and Japanese hotel mogul. She is jetted off to a completely new life full of luxuries she never thought was possible. But her new found family isn't so easy to live with. It comes with different problems.

Maybe it's because my life long dream of visiting #Japan was suddenly cancelled when this #pandemic started, but I really enjoyed this book. It really made me feel like I was there. 🇯🇵

5/5 for this one! I loved this. Elle experienced every bit of Tokyo! I want to go to cat island! The romance was sweet. The story was interesting. I felt for Elle as she goes through meeting a new family in a new place. I recommend this one.
