The plane accelerates, pressing us both back into our seats so firmly that we laugh. As we rush forward, faster and faster, we lift off from the ground and claim the sky.

Finished my first book for #auldlangspine! This wasn‘t on my radar at all as I don‘t read a ton of sci-fi anymore. I thought the characters acted a little young to be in their late 20s. However, I really loved this book and all the characters.

A group of friends break into a defunct spaceship. It takes off and they have to figure out how to survive. Also, romance! Great book!

I was really torn between advancing James or Sorcery and Small Magics in my bracket, but I knew it was a bit of a moot point in the end since The Stars Too Fondly has long since been my favorite book of the year. Doing a book bracket is always such a fun way to track yearly reading. Thanks for putting this one together @CSeydel #BookBracket2024

CSeydel Terrific reading year! 2mo
kspenmoll I was torn between James & Zorrie. In the end, Zorrie won out 2mo

Check out Book Riot's Best Books of 2024, and scroll down for my pick, The Stars Too Fondly. How many have you read? How many are on your tbr? I'm curious.

The only reason I picked up this book is because the author is the developer of NationStates, an online simulator I play 😂 Anyway, It‘s a thriller story about parallel dimensions which is a pretty unique premise. I liked the characters too but the writing style didn‘t really engage me. Idk why. Maybe because it‘s not very descriptive? Anyway, it‘s a decent novel but I didn‘t find it particularly immersive.
