I honestly think this addition to the Hamish Macbeth books was one of the greatest ones I have read yet! I love the friendship made between Hamish & James! And I'm glad Hamish ended with another love interest!

#Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

Finished earlier in the week, this was my second book for #ThematicCozies April #Sports theme. I really enjoyed this mystery set in the world of river rafting on the Arkansas River in Colorado. The MC, Mandy Tanner is a River Ranger who rescues two people when a tour raft upsets & one of them dies—turns out he was poisoned & since the raft & guide were her uncle‘s, she gets involved in the investigation. I liked the ⬇️

DebinHawaii … rafting descriptions as I used to go frequently with an old boss years ago back in Oregon. Mandy got on my nerves a bit at times—she‘s a young 27, but overall I liked it & will read the next in the series. 3w

Mehso-so

This one was extra jarring & felt like a totally different series. Just when I finally had gotten used to the 2nd narrator, this one has a different one. Everything felt off in this one. Sigh. 3⭐️

I liked 98% of this book. Didn‘t like Rainey‘s “romance” cause it felt Hallmark-y and unnecessary and her open ended ending. I hated how there was so much left open in the modern timeline. I loved how the dual timelines were handled, the friendships and love. There are parts of this where I wish some things were fleshed out at the end. But generally liked it

My picks for #ThematicCozies April: #Sports

The tagged book features river rafting & other outdoor adventures in Colorado. Geared for the Grave (I‘ll be listening to the free audiobook on Audible), is centered around a bike store on Mackinac Island. Both are first in series.

julieclair These both look good. Happy reading! 1mo

Okay, the inhabitants of Walmsley Parva should fear for their lives now - so many murders in such a short time. But Edwina and Beryl are on to solving the current one. The murder mystery are an easy and funny listening - perfect for my daily commute. The only thing I don‘t appreciate is the title, which already is clue.

The Ducote sisters (and Benjy and the animals) visit their cousin whose granddaughter is getting married but the girl dies during a storm the night before the wedding.

There was a totally unexpected twist near the end but also a trope repeated from the previous book. I'm curious to see if it appears again in the next book.

This is definitely an easy read/listening, but a very entertaining one. I like the interaction between Edwina and Beryl and Simpkins - that‘s undoubtly a funny triangle. Unfortunately the title gives away too much.

BethM I read this as mustard cuts the mustard and then all I could think of was my 4yo yelling mussssstaaaarrrd! 😂 2mo
