Once people start dying this gets fun. Which... is such an uncomfortable thing to say. Shakespeare is weird. #febs2dayathon
I'm not enjoying this nearly as much as I hoped I would. Probably not paying close enough attention. There's a storm happening and the power keeps cutting out and it's noisy and.. I am full of excuses. Shakespeare is difficult. 😂 #febs2dayathon
Also, please do go say hi to @Red_Pradas, she's new around here and kinda super cool! 💃💃
Yesterday, @Red_Pradas came at me with thoughts of a readathon, and like 13 minutes later the #febs2dayathon was born. Today and tomorrow we are tackling our own-tbr (I'm starting with an ARC, Dr Wangari Maathai Plants a Forest, but still) and gettin' some books read. I'm sorry in advance for any yelly posts about Macbeth, which is next in line 🎭🗡 Have a great Sunday, folks 💃❤️
This was one I read to literally scratch off my reading bucket list. I also willingly admit that I read a version translated into modern English. Pretty good story about a man who would be king so badly that he gets caught up in murderous plot that he can‘t get back out of.
NBR - I spent my Sunday afternoon with @dsfisher watching OperaCarolina‘s performance of Verdi‘s Macbeth. It‘s won‘t be my favorite opera, but it was enjoyable overall, and we had fantastic seats. 🤩 #AllHailMacbeth

Finally getting the #Halloween decorations up! This is my #WitchTable that I‘ve been creating the last couple of years. Just in time for this weekend‘s #FullMoon. 🖤🧡🕯🔮🌕🍂🍁🕸🧙🏻♀️🎃💀 #TeamSlaughter #Scarathlon #HalloweenDecor #witches #potions #books #pumpkins #spiders #bones
Am i strange because i like Macbeth? Ever since studying it in High School, Ive been facinated by it!

1. It‘s a television soundtrack, so please forgive me—it‘s my new favorite thing! The soundtrack for the show “Perpetual Grace, Ltd.” is all original and specifically composed for the show. It‘s just gorgeous! 📺 🎶
2. This is embarrassing, but I have 90 (oops!) 📱
3. Splash (I love fish) 🐠!
4. Litsy, and I‘m being very honest. I‘m an agoraphobic, and so my friends have really, if not given up on me exactly, kind of left me to myself.
Like Hamlet & Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth has permeated Western culture in myriad ways. Worth reading for the raw poetry & linguistic vibrancy of the lines we all know, & many more that are unfamiliar but equally memorable. Plus, with his trademark psychological insight, Shakespeare tackles numerous themes. Also, Lady Macbeth is now officially one of my favorite villains.
Update on my Lady Macbeth paper (since all of you were so incredibly encouraging as I struggled through it): I got a 95%! I'm starting to wonder if having a drink before I write something makes me a better writer. 🤔 I swear I don't drink very much, but I see results when I do. Is that why so many great writers are alcoholics? 😂
I also thought this would be a good time to show off this book. All of the pictures are made from laser cut paper. 😍
You guys, I have one final left. That's all. Just one. And it's a 5,000 word essay on Lady Macbeth, and I just. Cannot. Bring. Myself. To do it. 😩
I'm at like 700 words and I'm out of stuff to say. Instead of writing, I've read 2 books, cleaned the house, calculated what my grade would be if I didn't do it, decided I had to do it, walked Winston, and now I'm beating my head against a wall.
I have nothing against Macbeth, I'm just burnt out. 😅
For JHU project. This is the first time I've read this since teaching it at high school, and I'm surprised by how much of the soliloquies I remember. Also, since I researched all of Leverage the past few months, now I hear Lady Macbeth in Gina Bellman's voice!
#popsugar reading challenge 2019: a book that inspired a common phrase
(Take your pick! "Screw your courage to the sticking place", "something wicked this way comes", and "lay on, Macduff"!)
The theme of this month‘s BarkBox is Shakespeare in the Dog Park. I think this is the first literary theme they have had. So cute and since this is my reading buddy I had to post. 📚❤️🐶👺
I'm using Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland for this one. The #marchhare throws pots and pans around and I expect he throws a lot of random ingredients into his recipes too, just like the witches in Macbeth.
Thank goodness for No Fear Shakespeare. 🙌 I'm getting better with his writing, but a little help never hurts. And yes, I'm drinking wine while I work on my scene analysis. It's the only way to get through a semester of 15 credits and working full time. 😜🍷
"Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble."
Okay, so these aren't "poison'd entrails;" I'm sanitizing baby bottles. But I still feel a little witchy watching the boiling water. ??♀️
#shakespearereadalong buddies, They did MacBeth too. And RBG is Chief Justice!

Act 5 Scene 5. Junior year in high school. 1993. The soliloquy I‘ll never be able to unlearn, even if I tried. 🤣 It is what the word #tomorrow will always remind me of, no matter what. #musicalnewyear
For my class this term our final assignment is to write an adaptation of a Shakespeare work so I‘m writing Macbeth from Lady Macbeth‘s POV in a semi-suicide note/diary entry style and, man, it is draining trying to be power-hungry, mad, and horrible while also trying to showcase a female character who is ultimately really, really sad.
Very grateful that my local, within walking distance indie had this specific edition of Macbeth in stock. My daughter informed me last night that she needs it for school on Monday. Dude, you‘ve been home all week and you‘re telling me this NOW? 🙄 At least she didn‘t wait until we were on our way to school Monday morning 🙃
