Vansa The horse and his boy has always been my favourite Narnia book. I love the weaving in of Arabian nights themed fantasy into this. And I like the subverting of tropes, that flighty, chirpy Lasaraleen, when it comes down to it, shows immense bravery to help her friend. 3mo
imyril I've always had a soft spot for these two although I suspect I'd have a lot of eyeroll these days for the way Lewis depicts the Calormenes. Nephew is the one that has stayed with me - I have always found Jadis unusual as a children's fantasy villain and appreciated her all the more for it; and Uncle Andrew is just nastier and better observed the older I get. Such small-minded and very human sins all round (however big Jadis's ambitions!) 3mo
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! The Narnia series is a favorite of mine. 3mo
LibrarianRyan What a great series. 3mo

I‘ve been doing a read along of this but I couldn‘t stay at the 2 chapter a day pace. (Discovered an unknown #readinghabit) The first half of the book includes some of the P&P story from Mary‘s perspective and details after that gives her character more depth. It is was hard in many places because it was so sad at the beginning but like an Austen novel this heroine gets a satisfying end as well.

I really enjoyed this second book in the series. It seems like there was even more going on in this book than the first. There were a few things that didn't get explained, but I'm hoping it will all make sense after I read the third book.

DrexEdit Wasn't this made into a TV show once? Like one that only lasted a season or two? It sounds so familiar but I don't think I've ever read the books 7mo
CoffeeNBooks @DrexEdit Yes, I didn't realize until I started reading the books that they made a TV show based on them. 7mo

Got this from my childhood books. Anyone read Jacqueline in the past or now? What's your opinions? I love reading childhood books when in a slump as they cheer me up. Can't remember reading this one but I'm sure to enjoy it. Happy reading and weekend everyone 📚❤📖 #childrens #childhood #YA #fairytale #midnight #moon #time #fairy #fantasy #dreams

⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the second in the Midnight Texas series, and I think I liked it more than the first. Probably because I've grown to like the characters of the town. I also liked that it included a couple familiar faces from the Sookie Stackhouse books. The narrator did a great job with the audio (I especially enjoy her Mr. Snuggly voice 🐱).

thegirlwiththelibrarybag I swore off reading CH after growing tired of the Sookie/Southern Vampires series… but I watched the show when I was visiting a friend in England and it was just so deliciously not good (and I mean that in a complimentary way) that I ended up reading the books to see what happened… and I had a good time! 1y

It‘s been a little over a year since Manfred moved to Midnight. He‘s finally feeling at home and sets up an in person reading session for a long weekend in Dallas. Things go well until a a tragic set of events happen and he gets accused of a crime he didn‘t commit. At the same time, the hotel in Midnight is remodeled and brings a new round of mystery to the town along with several new residents.

Finally getting back into this series as well as physically reading. I‘ve been doing so much audiobooking lately that I‘m actually excited to do a physical read right now 🙌

Hopefully starting a new book will distract me from the heat we are getting this week 🥵

Sace I've been doing audiobooks so much that I think I'm forgetting how to read the printed word 😂 2y
Schnoebs @Sace you and me both. I remember the first being such an easy but fun read that I thought I would try the sequel to get me back in the physical mood. Not gonna lie though, I did look to see if my library had the audiobook 😂 2y
Sace @Schnoebs I've also found myself looking to see if the library has the audio of physical books I have. Apparently I can follow along and listen too. But just sitting and reading? Nah. 2y
Schnoebs @Sace happy I‘m not alone with being able to do the following along while listening bit struggling with the very simple task of reading with my eyes 2y
Sace You're definitely not alone! 2y
