Vansa The horse and his boy has always been my favourite Narnia book. I love the weaving in of Arabian nights themed fantasy into this. And I like the subverting of tropes, that flighty, chirpy Lasaraleen, when it comes down to it, shows immense bravery to help her friend. 3y
imyril I've always had a soft spot for these two although I suspect I'd have a lot of eyeroll these days for the way Lewis depicts the Calormenes. Nephew is the one that has stayed with me - I have always found Jadis unusual as a children's fantasy villain and appreciated her all the more for it; and Uncle Andrew is just nastier and better observed the older I get. Such small-minded and very human sins all round (however big Jadis's ambitions!) 3y
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! The Narnia series is a favorite of mine. 3y
LibrarianRyan What a great series. 3y
Roary47 Narnia is the best! 3y

I‘ve been doing a read along of this but I couldn‘t stay at the 2 chapter a day pace. (Discovered an unknown #readinghabit) The first half of the book includes some of the P&P story from Mary‘s perspective and details after that gives her character more depth. It is was hard in many places because it was so sad at the beginning but like an Austen novel this heroine gets a satisfying end as well.

Clwojick Wow! Those are near perfect matches! Awesome! 3y

Got this from my childhood books. Anyone read Jacqueline in the past or now? What's your opinions? I love reading childhood books when in a slump as they cheer me up. Can't remember reading this one but I'm sure to enjoy it. Happy reading and weekend everyone 📚❤📖 #childrens #childhood #YA #fairytale #midnight #moon #time #fairy #fantasy #dreams

#magicalmay #midnight

Midnight makes me think of midnight snacking which makes me think of Nigella Lawson & how back in the day her Food Network show ended with her making a late-night fridge raid & noshing on what she made during the episode. I fully respect that! 😁🤗 I have several of her books but this one seemed the best fit!

Eggs How fun! 5y
sisilia I love Nigella!! A true domestic goddess 😆 5y

#MagicalMay #Midnight

One of the few Koontz books that I really liked. I actually think of this book often in regards to technology and its effects on our lives. Koontz‘s sci-fi/horror scenario hits uncomfortably close to the mark in a metaphorical sense!

KathyWheeler Koontz is hit or miss for me, and this one was a hit. 5y
Eggs There are some Koontz books that I‘ve really enjoyed 5y
CindyMyLifeIsLit @KathyWheeler @Eggs My favorite is Phantoms! I could NOT put that book down! I was enthralled!! 5y

As seems to be the case with all Rushdie‘s novels (the ones I‘ve read anyway), this is a very long one with sections that make you think you should just give up and read something else, but then you come across a moment of brilliance and want to carry on.
