Kid 1: “But why aren‘t you reading your buddy reads?”
Kid 2: “Yeah, don‘t you have those two big books as buddy reads?”

The moral of the story is: don‘t tell your kids when you‘re doing a buddy read.

Maybe answer them back that you will finish this one by x day and then will start your buddy read...as in you have a plan and schedule and didn‘t forget your ‘homework‘😂. Dad‘s probably getting a pass because he‘s studying hard. Kids are just too smart sometimes, you try to teach them well and then they use it against you. 6y

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @saresmoore In all honesty, it doesn‘t hurt to be honest with your kids, that even adults struggle with planning. It‘s important to know your limits, not commit to too many extracurricular activities (buddy reads), but it‘s still important to try to meet your obligations and plan time for important things before deadlines. It never hurts to show them that all humans struggle with the same things and use the same ways to cope and plan better.😉 6y
