I love Pat Conroy and his ability to tell a story, but even he can‘t get me to love a basketball memoir. Sorry Pat, it‘s me not you.
This was my #backlistreadathon title from August. Next time I‘ll stick to his novels.

Not feeling the greatest today, but the weather is so nice. I parked myself here in the shade where I can read and nap in peace for a few hours.
Is anyone else seeing every post 3 times on the Litsy app today?
#12booksin2022 this is my August pick. I have met a Pat Conroy book I haven‘t loved. I had not read this one yet, and it did not disappoint.
Wow.
A story about the brotherhood, friendship, and love between 4 young men going through the trials and tribulations of the "education" they received while attending South Carolina Military Institute. The Citadel. The story is told through the eyes of one of the men, Will McLean..he despises the Institute. We learn why.
Engrossing, descriptive, and heartbreaking.
🎧 Next up: An audiobook that‘s been in my queue for several years— ever since @BethFishReads cited it as one of her personal all-time favorite audiobooks!

There are writers, and then there are authors who create intricate pictures using every colour in their paint box. This book is one such phenomenal creation. Do yourself a favour and set aside time to immerse yourself in the world of Pat Conroy. Despite the serious, sometimes sad nature of the subject, his sort of dry irony and writing style keeps me laughing outloud all the way through, making this a wonderful, rare treat. Highly recommended.
I really enjoyed Cassandra King Conroy‘s memoir of her marriage to Pat Conroy. It was moving and readable. It was a good distraction from Hurricane Sally 😊. We were lucky; we never lost power, although a large part of the surrounding city and counties did. Our internet has been down since my last post and just came up a few hours ago. Our cell service was very spotty, but all-in-all, we came through fine.
