#AuthorAMonth @Soubhiville

I think I'm going to really enjoy Nnedi Okorafor's writing. She's new to me, but I'm already impressed with the opening pages to the tagged.

Soubhiville I haven‘t read this one yet. Hope you like it! 8mo

The author travels to #Bhutan in her early 40s and meets and marries a Buddhist artist.

This became better as it went along. At first the writing was too basic and simplistic, and more about the author than the country. However, we soon start to learn about the customs and people of Bhutan and it became much more interesting. The Bhutanese ways of thinking and viewing the world around them are particularly fascinating.

@Mitch Thank you so much for my#BlitsySwap package! I love everything and haven‘t read any of those books! I‘m wearing the T-shirt to school tomorrow and can‘t wait to show my treasures to my students, but the chocolate is unlikely to survive the night!! I love British milk chocolate! Nothing can compare!! #BlitsyHistoryMonth #BHMS

Readergrrl @Mitch my daughter reminds me that Galaxy bars were her only choice the summer we spent in Scotland. Now I have to share!! Haha!!! 3y

The #joyousjanuary readathon definitely helped me find a few minutes for myself to read, which was so nice amidst the chaos. Finished the tagged book on a walk this morning and got to enjoy this glorious sunrise.

It is a story about a group of girls (more than 200) who were kidnapped by the militant Islamic group “Boko Haram” in Northern Nigeria in 2014. It‘s heartbreaking at the same time uplifting in some parts. It‘s about sisterhood, hope and faith. Stories like this mass kidnaping in Africa, highlight the gigantic disparity of news reporting.

“The cracks the storyteller in me required weren‘t there. It was because of and after the Breaking and my subsequent journey that I acquired this part of my self.”

Not sure if this‘ll be a super sad story, or an encouraging read. Based on the picture I would say it‘s the latter. I‘ll know soon.

I was in high school when the Thomas hearings happened. I picked up this book after seeing it here on Litsy so I could get a little more background than what a typical teenager would get from the evening news. After reading this I am so frustrated that things don‘t seem to have changed yet (but are hopefully heading that way.) Hill was only doing her job, and it changed the course of her life.
