I wish that as a child there had been a book like this. This book was definitely up my loving the supernatural type of stories. Lora Senf can write like the best of them! This book is up there with The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. I recommend reading this with your child or recommending it to the purchasing librarian at your local Library, I know I will! I've got a few kids who wander the stacks looking for books like The Clackity.

I was prepped to love this, and feel super let down that I didn‘t. I just couldn‘t engage with the story or the characters, which left no reason to keep reading. I just didn‘t care about anything or anyone. Maybe I‘m just not in the mood for high fantasy, but I gave it 200 pages and then gave up. Too much of a waste of reading time…

For how many years have I wanted to read this book? Ever since I finished my first Kingfisher book. I'm happy I finally managed to read it, thanks to #DoubleSpin & @TheAromaofBooks
Surprisingly, it took quite a while for me to get into the story. Only when the Dust Wife appeared, I slowly started to come to terms with this book. But after that I was all in. I started to love the characters, liked the world and the feminist plot. And the sidekicks.

This was a spooky, fun, middle grade horror book that had me smiling to myself and turning the pages. Evie is a delight, her Aunt is the sweetest of witches, and the friends she meets on her adventures are special and wise. So happy I stumbled upon this one for the #BookRiotchallenge . #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

A wonderfully spooky & atmospheric middle-grade novel, which reminded me a lot of Coraline with its adventures, ghosts, places, and creatures set in another “parallel“ world. Two thumbs up!
