A Reaper at the Gates | Sabaa Tahir
post image

Is it June yet? I know there will be a lot of amazing books #Releasedin2018, but I‘m eagerly awaiting the next installment in the Ember quartet. Love the series so far and I‘m also hoping Sabaa comes back to the area on book tour, because it was such a blast getting to see her speak and meet her when she was here after the release of her last book. Melissa_J I love these books! Bit disappointed by the cover change though as I prefer that they match the existing covers and these clearly don‘t (I do like the new covers though). 7y
[DELETED] 3803335244 @Melissa_J I agree but the explanation for why she changed the covers rules out my own feelings on having them match. She writes about it on her website. 7y
[DELETED] 3803335244 I can‘t wait until Book 3! I need more & I really liked book 1 & 2 ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 7y

Melissa_J @ForeverNerdy ya, I‘m aware of the reasoning behind the changes and totally get it, but I wish the publisher would re-release the first two books in hardcover with the new covers instead of the just the paperback editions. I‘d buy them again I‘m so anal about matching series. 7y
[DELETED] 3803335244 @Melissa_J I agree with you ❤️ 7y
megt @Melissa_J @ForeverNerdy it does drive me a little batty when publishers change the covers mid run in a series, but in this case I totally understand. I love the series and I‘ll happily get new copies at some point so that everything matches. As it is the copies I do have already don‘t match (one paperback and one hardcover) so chances are I would have ended up buying new copies at some point no matter what 😊 7y
[DELETED] 3803335244 @megt I have the first audio then the second hardback. I‘ll buy the third, but I‘m one of those weird book people that don‘t care if they match ☺️ Unless it‘s one of my all time favorites. Like I had to have Six of Crows match, Jane Austen, & a few others. But although these are great books. Not my all time favs. Yet at least maybe after book 3 7y
megt @ForeverNerdy totally understand that! To be honest, many of my series books don‘t match. Some day I‘ll get them all in matching sets 😊 7y

Pickpick

All about trama and resiliency, this was an intense read, heartbreaking and hopeful. It was eye opening and if I could, I'd make it required reading. #releasedin2018 #readingresolutions @Jess7

Unbury Carol: A Novel | Josh Malerman

Picked through my stack of advance copies to find something #releasedin2018 for #readingresolutions. This sounds interesting (woman who can‘t die is buried alive by her gold-digging husband!), and I‘ve heard good things about the author (he also wrote Bird Box) - I might end up using it as my #western for the #readharder challenge.

Challenge | Day 03

Unbelievably, I didn‘t buy any books in 2018! So, I have no release of this year. But, I‘m extremely anxious for this one! I‘m so so excited to return to this world and I already miss Feyre and Rhys.

King Kong Theory | Virginie Despentes

The publishers I interned at this last semester recently edited and published the first Catalan translation of Despentes' KING KONG THEORY. I'm loving the cover and can't wait to read it. It's supposedly raw, punk, honest, and very, very powerful - 🔥#grrrl

Hoping to finish this one up this weekend. 🤞🏼Finn‘s bio gave me a little insight into why Anna Fox (the main character in his book) suffers from #agoraphobia and is so obsessed with old movies. Snips of the quirky/likable parts of his bio are shown above. He refers to The Woman in the Window as “the best [he] could do” and pleas for a cameo in the movie based on his book 😂 #CurrentlyReading #BOTM #AuthorBio #ReleasedIn2018 #ReadingResolutions

Laylafinn Are you enjoying the book? Found a 20% off coupon on targets cartwheel and was debating on picking it up 7y
Miznanner I just started it last night after taking my “only when the pain reaches 8 or 9 on the 10 point scale” pain med. Fought to stay awake...woke up this morning with the Kindle on my pillow. Then almost canceled plans with friends so I could stay home and read more of it! So yeah- it is worth getting! 7y
Jess7 I am on page 305 (beginning of chapter 73). I think I might have part of the plot figured out. The main character is super annoying. There is one scene in particular where I found myself saying “why” out loud. It‘s definitely suspenseful, but also really annoying at the same time. I‘m glad I‘m reading it so far. @Laylafinn @Miznanner 7y
Jess7 I finished it last night and wrote a review of it on my page if you‘re interested @Laylafinn and @Miznanner 7y
